I also did not follow anyone into the alcove when I saw a person pop back unharmed.

I do go with Widseth to examine the sword and other various parts there of.

The sword bears a striking resemblance to both the dancing sword and the others you discovered in the treasure room and is enchanted (+1) but is otherwise unremarkable.

"I suggest we take a little time to search some of the tombs. Strahd knows we are here, and I prefer to clear out any of his minions if he comes here. There may be teleportation devices in other parts of the castle. I think if he is badly hurt he will try to use one of them to return to his coffin to heal. We will need to hurry back here to end him before he heals, but if we clear this place, we may not have as great a task if minions come to help him."

(Just want to make sure where we are. Strahd's coffin where we found Ireena was room 86. Is that correct?)

An arcane scroll great power, perhaps the wizards in your company can tell you more.

I watch Kryndal and the others disappear and reappear though the alcove for awhile but chose not to attempt the trick myself. When Barkley reveals what scroll he found it draws my interest.

"May I take a look at that?" I ask him.

I take the scroll from Barkley with thanks and begin to read it. My eyes widen in surprise as I do. "This scroll...," I stammer, "It's.... it's unlike anything I've ever seen! This is an extremely complicated spell... no wait... not a single spell... there are dozens of spells on this scroll! But they are all woven together!"

I look back up at Barkley. "Assuming this is not simply pure madness, this is a very, very powerful scroll," I tell him. "I will consult with Breon, but this is well beyond my training."

Breon takes the scroll and studies it. He mutters some words, and it glows with a faint light (read magic).

"Adeya is right," he explains. "This scroll contains powerful, complicated magic. I've only seen a scroll like this once before. It is a Wish spell - powerful yes, but dangerous. I do not know why Strahd would allow this to be found by his enemies."

"A wish spell! A wish is a powerful and dangerous thing my friends. Be very cautious if you chose to use it. As my mother always said, Be careful of what you wish for as you just might get it."
