"Why do think he is preoccupied, m'lady? His house, though a bit run down seems to be well run. Your mother may not be of noble blood but you couldn't tell that in her daughter. Your nobility shines through your eyes. Have you seen any other "guests"?"

(I try to distract her with conversation while the bed is being moved."

"Gertruda, please move." With that, Cram waits for Gertruda to move (not very long), and motions for Kryndal to help him move the bed.

*If I don't get on for a while, at any point in the near future, assume that Cram is happy to help the party in whatever way suggested. Sending Picc a PM about what's up*

“I have seen no one else since I arrived master bard,” the girl says flushing slightly as she rises from the bed and follows you across the room, “but I must assume they are here or will soon arrive if the count is planning a wedding as you say. As for the count himself I admit his preoccupation is supposition on my part but justifiably so. He is a dear man and spent many nights visiting me in the villiage. The fact that I have not seen him since he brought me here days hence would seem to imply he is otherwise occupied with something of great import.”

"I'm happy to help with the redecorating, as well. Miss, if you'd please allow us to trouble you..."

(OOC:STR=23 if that info is needed.)

Once the girl has departed the bed the two of you move it with little effort. The bed appears to be fixed to a system of castors that issue a low metallic click as the bed is moved and cause one of the panels in the wall to recede and open as the headboard slides out of the way.

“That must be how the servants entered to deliver my meals,” Gertruda beams as the panel slides open headless to the fact she would have likely woken if this door were employed while she slept.

From beyond the panel door a long, low moans drifts down the dusty hallway.

In his most charming voice, Kryndal says,"Oh, I'm sorry that you've missed breakfast this morning, miss. Perhaps a little something to hold you over?"

He smiles broadly, and offers her a potion vial--a Potion of Siren Wine.

"Thanks you sir I am quite parched," the girl says taking the bottle and drinking the heady fluid inside.

OOC:The potion appears to have no effect. The girl is both in good health and under no charms or compulsions.

Breon listens to the moans from the revealed passage, trying to determine what is making them - a human, perhaps?

The noises sound distant and mournful but vaguely human even though you can not make out the words.

"This is very odd," I whisper to Kryndal. "If she is not under any charms or compulsions how is she unaware of the danger she is in? I suppose Strahd can be quite charming when he needs to be."

"Is she coming with us, or staying here? Daylight is wasting." With that Cram starts down the stairs.

Kryndal follows Cram, still carrying a torch in one hand and his blade in the other.

As you enter the passage long, low moans drift from the dimly lit chamber ahead. However once you step inside you can see that the room is quite empty save for the alcoves that line both walls of the long chamber. The ceiling has fallen here in section, leaving rubble strewn across the floor. Overhead, the beams of Ravenloft's roof are exposed. Sporadic lightning from the clouds above flashes into the room. A graven statue stands within each of the 10 alcoves. Shafts of light cross the statues' faces at obscure angles. Another sudden flash and crack of lightning reveals their faces formed in the shapes of terrified men and women.

"I'm not sure I like this place at all" Gertruda says timidly, apparently having given in to curiosity and followed your group as you explored the passage, "where are we anyway?"

"The hall of memory" whispers a ghostly voice from one of the alcoves as if in answer. Shrieking in fright at the answer Gertruda nearly jumps out of her skin and retreats behind Cram. Bringing light towards the alcove from which the voice emanated you can see nothing save the statue that occupies the space.

Barkley makes sure his mirror is handy. (ooc - especially if these statues look a little too life-like...)
