TOPIC: Meet at the Inn

Re: Meet at the Inn 11 years 4 months ago #385

I turn and scan behind the party. I loosen my mithral sword in its sheathe and hold the dancing sword in my hand. I strum the lute and begin it playing a rousing tune.

I move into the third open spot up front and unleash an overhand arcing swing with my axe upon the closest skeleton with a nice spin as the blade enters the ribcage.

Hit: D20 roll 11 + 7 (+ 2 for Widseth's Lute) = 19

DMG: 2D6 ( 6 + 3 ) + 7 = 16

ooc: using this dice roller, you can customize the rolls with + to hit and damage and save them to "My Rolls"

"Adeya, remember that the undead are often immune to spells that inflict damage by cold or frost."

Breon, concentrating on drawing energies from the elemental plane of fire, gestures and holds out his hands towards the skeletons. "Manus ignis," he calls out, and flames shoot from his hands towards the attacking skeletons.

(OOC - Burning hands - 9 damage to all targets - I assume I would pass the planes check! I switched my Ring of Focus for a Ring of Evasion.)

Breon's words snap me out of my initial surprise from the attacking skeletons and I nod in agreement. I reach into a cylindrical case at my hip and pull out a scroll, fearing that my momentary lack of focus will hinder any spell I attempt unaided. The words on the parchment vanish as I quickly read aloud in a strange tongue, and then the sound of a powerful gong rings though the air.

Waves of holy radiance and fire turn back the undead ambush as your group continue the melee. Presently only three of the initial six skeletons remain standing, one is more heavily damaged then the others hobbling forward on a shattered leg and all three charred black by flame.

The first skeleton stabs at Breon (roll 9 dmg 4), the second again attacks Cram but finds the barbarian well prepared as its blow is easily deflected (roll 3 dmg 4). The final abomination strikes at Delmar with wicked determination (roll 15, dmg 6).

If they were human the loss of so many comrades so quickly would likely cause them to break but these mindless creatures know no such fear and press the attack.

Cram strikes the one who attempted to hit him.
Roll 16 + 8 = 24
Damage 5 + 12 + 2 fire = 19

I embrace the hit and push forward to the skeleton with a combination shield/axe strike.

1d20 + 7
( 17 ) + 7 = 24 +2 from the Lute = 26

2d6 + 7
( 3 + 1 ) + 7 = 11

(Forgot Lute +damage last time it is +1 right?) dmg = 12 then

OOC: Very used to reminding the DMs of our Bard's plusses in the dungeons. I can stop adding them in if you are keeping track of them Picc.

With that the last of the skeletons are shattered leaving only broken bones strewn about the hallway.

OOC: I'm adding bard damage to each hit unless you tell me you already did.

I eat a Frostberry and then drink a Dwarven Pilsner to cure the 6 points of damage.

After my one round of stun from the Dwarven Pilsner I use two of my Scroll Cure Lt Wounds(5 points per scroll) to heal Breon and Cram of their 4 points each of damage.
