"If you left now we could reach the camp by night call I doubt the master would think to look for you there so soon but in truth there is no safety to be found anywhere in Barovia after sunset. Holy ground may keep the him at bay for a time but he has many servants not bound by such restrictions." Sergi replies after a moments consideration.

I look at the others.

"Shall we hazard the evening and make for the gypsy camp, or do we make a stand here until the morning? If Sergi is to be trusted, we can make it to the camp before the sun sets."

"Brother, what say you? Can you hold the church another evening without us? If so, we should make haste. As it is written, the unseen blow lands hardest."

OOC - we do all still remember at least one of these guys was radiating epic levels of evil, yes? Would be nice if one of us understood their language...

"I think it might be best to wait for morning; we are already walking into an uncertain situation, and the darkness will only add to the dangers we may face," Kryndal says.

"This town is my home, I will hold" brother Donavich says with grim determination.

"I am with you whether we stay or go. I think, perhaps, we may see things more clearly if we meet their Mistress Eva in the daylight. We might then have more time to prepare a journey to Strahd's castle."

Breon moves out of sight from the prisoners, takes a scroll from a bone scroll case, and reads it, speaking strange words in a low voice. The words on the parchment glow faintly as he says them, and then disappear.

"I personally would rather stay the night to help protect the village, and deal with the Madam Eva in the morning. Better to not try to fight too many foes at once."

Delmar nods in agreement at the general sentiment of the party wanting to venture out in the morning. He slowly walks over to one of the pews in the church, deep in thought and sits alone slightly apart from the rest of the company. Worry is evident on his face.

"Brother Donavich, is there a secure room without windows where we can hold the two rats and a mouse securely? We need to bind them securely, mostly so one of them could not do harm to the others. I suggest two on watch to keep one another awake--one to watch the gypsies and the other to wake us if trouble arises. Brother Donavich and Barkley, I trust you have Holy items or glyphs that will act as wards placed on the windows and doors that will either damage the ungodly fiends or at least alert us to their presence. Any other ideas?"

I move a bench to a corner of the chapel and sit with my back against the stone walls. I place one sword on a pew 30 feet from me and hold the other in my hand. My lute is cradled in my arm under my shield.

I suddenly stand up. My dancing sword follows me to the three gypsies. I kneel down beside the bound Sergi.

"Sergi, my friend--could you be the undead Sergei, the vampire's younger brother who fell in love with Tatyana? Did your brother raise you from the dead to serve him?"

I reach out and touch him. If he is undead, he will scream out or wince from my touch with the Undead Bane from the Mithral I wear.

"I've an item fashioned from a minotaur's horn that will instantly awaken all who hear it. I will pass it around to whomever is standing watch to sound at need."

Barkley's eyes bulge noticeably at Widseth's conversation with Sergei.
