TOPIC: 2028 Ultra Rare Token Images

Here are some notes of interest:

There are three "honorary" tokens for long-time TD volunteers.
Archibald's Surety Stone - a thank you to NPC Brendan Lapsley*
Chuck's Training Tunic - a thank you to long-time Trainer Charlie Russell
Ioun Stone Death Bloom - a thank you to the incredible 8+ member Bluhm Crew for their many years of help


*-Archibalds's Surety Stone: Archibald's Surety Stone, Cloak of Shadowskin, and Sidekick Pudnort are all mutually exclusive: only one of those three tokens may be equipped.

Bead of Utility (and its coming transmutes):


This token does not bypass any class limits or other restrictions on potions or scrolls - e.g. a character must be able to use a given potion or scroll in general in order to use it with Bead of Utility.

The "(on self)" for potions means the player equipping the Bead of Utility is the one consuming the potion.


Examples:
* A damage potion like "Potion Green Dragon Breath" may be used with this token
* "Potion Denner Essence" may be consumed, but may only benefit the player equipping the Bead of Utility

The "healing/damage" restriction means only potions or scrolls which deal damage, or cure/heal HP as their sole effect are eligible.

Examples:
* Potion Feybane (Removes and Prevents Charm) is not eligible, since it does not only cure/heal HP or deal damage
* Potion Captain's Rum is not eligible, because while it cures 3 HP, it also has an additional effect (e.g. Removes Charm)
* Potion Denner Essence (cures 3 HP) is eligible
* Scroll Acid Rain (deals 4 acid damage to all monsters) is eligible for Bard and Wizards (the classes this scroll is usable by)
* Scroll Bless (+1 to hit and +1 to saves vs. Fear for party) is not eligible since it does not deal damage or cure/heal
* Scroll Corpse Conflagration (Disintegrates remains of dead monster & does 4 pts of Fire damage to all monsters) is not eligible, as while it deals damage it has an additional effect

Cloak of Endless Ammo:

This item does not bypass restrictions or limits on the Munition token used. For instance the Munition must be compatible with the weapon in use.

Greaves of Evasion:

The Evasion power is:

Evasion: If the player makes a successful Reflex saving throw against any attack that would normally deal half damage on a successful save, take no damage instead. If the saving throw fails, take full damage.

Mark IV Cognard Armor:

The wearer may use a melee weapon (using melee combat modifiers) to attack a monster at range once per game.

The wording on the Cognard armor should be reversed if the intent is a melee attack at ranged. It reads that you can make a ranged attack as melee.

You weren't kidding about the Melee Goggles this year. Nice to see the Melee slot being brought up to par with the other classes, and interested to see where the transmute line goes.

Does seem like a lot of transmute lines for this year's tokens, so going to be tricky to evaluate some of these without the context.

On quick glance these tokens look really cool and I'm excited to see what the transmutes from them will be. I'll give a more close glance later but on initial inspection I see the Mark of the Pathsworn doesn't have the set bonus link on it. Will it not count as a Pathsworn item for the set bonus?

The way the current armor is worded, it would let a ranged attack count as melee, instead of the intended use. Probably need some clarification on that particular token.

Mark of the Chancelor might want to be limited to choosing only 1 of those. Mark of the 2nd Tenet and Mark of the 3rd Tenet are both plus 3 to Wisdom and Charisma, so this new Mark is way better than either individually at plus 4. Or maybe make it +3 if we can still pick 2 at the start?

But, I love this token so please keep it! Being able to get more Intelligence for a second Familiar would be awesome! And I love the artwork for it.

Well, since Int and Charisma don't really have much mechanical benefit at the moment, apart from an extra figuring and perhaps an extra familiar down the road, of which we don't really know what they do yet, I'm not sure what the issue is, unless you want to curb power creep in the mark slot.

Love the spellcaster stuff, especially the new gloves.

Why not reprint Goggles of Instant Analysis and use it as part of a transmute to keep it on par with existing tokens and bump Lenses of the Lancer to Relic?

I think anyone named Matt using IS Death Bloom should get -3.... and anyone wearing matching shirts get an extra +1 to saves..... Just saying.

I love the cloak of endless ammo. If it makes it through I’ll need to consider dropping shadowskin for it. I do think I like the effect better at another slot but trade offs are needed so might be best to leave it as is.

Archibald's Surety Stone might be too good at slotless, maybe move to ioun stone. If not I will happily PYP one.
