Please give us your thoughts on the beta versions of the 2027 tokens. Your feedback would be much appreciated! Due to all the work required for Ring Con this May, we are moving up the 2027 Treasure Token Collection development. Below is a link to a PDF will helpful info you should read first.

Any changes from last Post (in L & L section): We are pausing any development of multi-year transmute tokens until after we have finalized the other main tokens. This will give us time to reflect on our options.

The recipe for charm of unity and Smith's Charm of Unified Synergy say 2026 UR instead of 2027 UR.

So, if a person doesn't have any of the old tokens to transmute with the Smith's Charm, then over the transmute chain they need 6 2027 UR's????

I really think its a great idea to have a transmute path for the old CoAS, but for those who don't have it, I really think the bad part of this transmute chain is with the Charm of Unity itself. I don't think the Charm of Unity should require 2 2026 UR's. Most Relics, if not all, have only required 1 UR from that year, and that was the direct UR (in this case Charm of Coordination). I know in 2026 because of low token stock the token used in direction transmute was changed to just require a similar token type, but will that still be the case in 2027?

My recommendation is to just change the recipe for Charm of Unity to this:

Charm of Coordination
XX Alchemist Ink
XX Alchemist Parchment
XX Aragonite
XX Darkwood Plank
XX Dwarven Steel
XX Elven Bismuth
XX Enchanter's Munition
XX Golden Fleece
XX Minotaur Hide
XX Mystic Silk
XX Oil of Enchantment
XX Philosopher's Stone
5,000 GP in Reserve Bars

And the recipe for Smith's Charm is very wacky also. Why would Charm of Coordination be used in the transmute. If you are requiring a Relic, which already would have used the exact Trade Goods as the Charm of Unity Relic, and a $400 Relic to boot, why require an UR in the recipe? Set #1 and Set #2 are both very odd. I'd recommend changing them to this:

Smith's Charm of Unified Synergy
ONE of the following sets:
SET 1:
1x Charm of Awakened Synergy

SET 2:
1x Charm of Unity

Then,
2x 2026 URs
XX Alchemist Ink
XX Alchemist Parchment
XX Aragonite
XX Darkwood Plank
XX Dwarven Steel
XX Elven Bismuth
XX Enchanter's Munition
XX Golden Fleece
XX Minotaur Hide
XX Mystic Silk
XX Oil of Enchantment
XX Philosopher's Stone
25,000 GP Eldritch Ore Bar
plus ONLY ONE of the following:
1x Wish Ring
1x 15,000 GP in Reserve Bars
Cleric since '09.

Again, just to reiterate, Smith's Charm should only require 3 UR's over the course of the transmute:

1 UR for the Relic
2 UR for the Legendary

Not 6! Unless we are seeing some type of Shrinkflation with TD to combat tarriff's. I was all about making Smith's Charm, but otherwise I'm not so sure if 6 UR's are required.

Jeff,
The 2027 set has a lot of tokens with downsides. 45/167 or about 26% have a downside. 2026 had 7/156, and three were part of a set that would negate the penalty. I understand that all the masks will have a drawback, but I would look at all the other tokens and see if they really need them. An example is the Boots of the Plague. If anyone has been playing for a few years they will probably have Deathward Greaves which completely negates the poison damage they would take from the Boots. I would drop the damage to 5 and get rid of the drawback so that it's like the Boots of the East Wind, just a different damage type.

I noticed that too. For masks, it makes thematic sense. For everything else, not so much

I'd argue that a set based around cultists and ancient evils might have a fair amount of negatives if the items were to be used by those with a lack of "faith"

Jeff, are Epic tokens gone now? Also, will there now be $1K and $2K purchase bonuses?

Finally, out of curiosity, who are the Smith and Aron tokens named after? I love that you do honorary tokens for people. :)

Q. If a Paladin equips a Tobin's Cosmic Ring, do
they have to pick between damage and an
additional Guard?
Yes. They cannot get both powers

The ring should allow Paladins to get both powers. Without both I doubt it takes over the slot from other rings. We'd probably be better off just getting an Amulet of Guarding reprint than this ring.

The recipe for Smith's looks pretty lackluster and unappealing for the path that contains CoAS. If it had a low cost and required Charm of Unity and Charm of Awakened Synergy then I'd consider it but if all I'm gaining in hit (something most of us are already near cap on for NM / Epic) I don't see any reason I would dump large amounts of TGs or gold into it. It would basically just turn it into a Mythic only option for me at that point.

Well, in general the Ring slot is less valuable than the neck slot, so there might be Paladins that would prefer this to an amulet of guarding. It does come with a set bonus also.
