2026 Transmuted Tokens 1 day 15 hours ago #1

We have a lot of Transmutes this year -- with several multi-year tokens being created. They will come in handy at next year's Ring Con.

Please have a good look and let us know your thoughts. I tried to come up with some fun themed items that folks will want to make and use. John is going to kill me with all the transmuting that is coming his way. :P

Your first question will be: What are the exact benefits for the Insight Power and Enlightenment Power?

This is a great question.

However, I don't have a good answer for you. I am still knee-deep in 2025 adventure creation, and while I have some cool ideas for these 2 things, I don't want to commit right now. So, I am going to make a major ask here -- and ask for your help later toward the end of 2025 to define them.

Oh, and see you if can find the one I named to make fun of myself. The first to post will win a Dream Date with Henwy.

Thanks again for your considered feedback and patience with my slightly-crazy ways.

NOTE: The Ultra Rare Cloak of Shadowstep is no more. It has been replaced by the Cloak of Saints that restores a dead character with 1 hp if they roll a 11+ on a d20.

I'm very happy to see Rogues (and other classes) get a new Legendary weapon which doesn't require a 3-piece set bonus to use. This will be the clear BiS weapon, but that's fine as plenty of people play without Legendary tokens and still have access to all the others.

I also really like the changes to the cloak, I liked the previous Craven version but like the new Vello version even more.

Ring of the Sacred Circle is balanced but feels like it should be more exciting considering the effort required to craft it, I'm out of town for a few days though and not online much so will leave that to others to discuss.

Moving Bead of Divine Choice to the Bead slot now makes it an exact copy of this year's Bead of Asgard, so I think this worked better as a charm in the previous version.

Gloves of Infamy seems much better than Reach Divine Gloves, even though both are the same level of Transmute. Making Reach Divine Gloves +3/+4 damage instead of +2/+3 would fix this.

Great job with the transmutes overall!
I play Rogue. Occasionally I even play Rogue well.

Can one benefit if they equip the relic cloak, legendary cloak and death die by having up to three d20 rolls to come back?

I really like that relic and legendary cloak!

The ring of the sacred circle is a good start, but not quite there. I feel like it needs to be almost a fusion of the sum of its parts. Since this has been such a huge five year transmute, I would love to see the ring reflect more on the individual rings that were used to create it. Perhaps something like this:

+5 hp
+2 AC
+1 Saves
+1 Damage Resistance

Since we don’t really know what the ring of the first circle does, that’s why I just put the plus one damage resistance, which covers potentially a damage reducer this year and last year‘s -2 Melee reduction damage. The -10 dark rift damage just seems to come out of nowhere.

Or, another option is to just say:

+2 to HP, AC, Saves, & Damage Resistance

Which that is almost on theme with the Arcanum shirt and the Arcanum grieves, which gives them all sort of a synergy

I'd recommend it be at least +5 HP, +2 to Saves, AC, and DR. Plus whatever Ring 1 is.

My thoughts on this round:

Io's Crossbow
Mechanically and Power Wise, I think you could include Monk on this bow (Monks are on almost all crossbows in tokendb), or possibly even "All except Cleric" like the Stunning Light Crossbow.

Cloak of Angels
This is pretty swingy on a roll of a die - you either end up dead or at full. I think I preferred the Craven Cloak which is less swingy and probably similar power. I have no particular complaints though if this is the direction it goes - it's basically a legendary Butterfly Cloak

Divine Reach Gloves
These can be a flat +3 to ranged damage. See Blessed Tempest Gloves ( tokendb.com/token/blessed-tempest-gloves/ )

Ring of the Sacred Circle
The high DR for Darkrift is possibly going to be a problem, as there will be a lot of builds with -20 darkrift, but you won't be able to always assume -20 darkriftn damage. It also unfortunately may not stack with the greaves if the player has a Topaz Trillant, as you'd cap out with just the 2 tokens.

A different suggestion: you could get most of the power of the different rings by making this +2 all attributes. Written out in actual benefits, the end product would be: +1 all saves, +5 hp, +1 melee hit and damage, +1 ranged hit, +1 AC, and in some cases a second FoP. It's simple, follows the theme of the Arcanum Shirt, and doesn't end up with DR stacking issues. It would also make designing the Arcanum set bonus easier, as the components would be fairly predictable and uniform.

Arcanum Greaves
Why not make this just like the Barbarian Character card for clarity and uniformity? -2 Damage, excluding push and eldrich.

Bead of Divine Choice
This is a duplicate of the Bead of Asgard ( tokendb.com/token/bead-of-asgard/ ). Is this intentional?

+1 to this. "+2 all attributes" is a very small amount of text but a very solid list of benefits. Short and sweet but also strong.

Also +1 to this. I know some people have been underwhelmed with this power, but I feel like a series of -2 conditional resistances all combining into a general -2 to all the things is just right and, frankly, exactly what I expected.

Yes to all of this. The +2 stats makes it so simple and yet it incorporates all the rings perfectly.

+3 Very Lethal Crossbow
Probably doesn't need the [1/combat] as I'm not sure how you would get a first slide more than once a combat.

Incense of X
Is there a limit of how many Incense can be turned in by a party? Because if all 10 players have a Censor of Divine Aid and turn in an Incense of Might, having +20 to hit and damage is a lot.

I do want to note that I like the art of the relic and legendary crossbows.

Hello Jeff,
Thanks for putting in so much work to make these

My thoughts are as follows

Ten Saints Cloak + Vello's
In isolation I think this is fine, this is a very fun item if 1 party member were to equip it. A silly fun gamble leading to exciting memories. However I think this token breaks down if the entire party equips it, at a moderate nightmare level we can assume the party will have around 50HP+ each. Meaning that this token heals the party on average 250HP a game at least in the level of difficulty we'd normally see it.

The Cleric Class, our dedicated healer whose well equipped with +20 Healing on each spell will heal the party (if they use their entire spell list) 284 HP over the course of an adventure. This means on average, this legendary cloak heals for the nearly same value as our dedicated healing party member and I fear invalidates their need in an adventure.

Yes, there are other things a Cleric can do, but I think anyone would be hard pressed to say that healing is not a core part of the Class' identity. I'd recommend going back to the Craven Cloak and workshopping it further, you had a very good design going on there and it was getting close to perfection.

Bead of Divine Choice + Accursed Charm

These abilities appear to have been swapped. These are now duplicate tokens of "Bead of Asgard" and "Bifrost Charm" respectively. I am uncertain if this change was intentional or not, but I would sugggest switching them back.

Ring of the Sacred Circle

I'm a little worried about another +10 Darkrift DR Stat stick the year after Trilliant. We're gonna be at some very high levels (20 with Trilliant and this Ring) which may make some encounter design rather hard or swingy. As it is now isn't something I'd be upset with, I'm just a bit concerned about it.
I like the Corey Pressler's idea of:
+5 hp
+2 AC
+1 Saves
+1 Damage Resistance (Though I'm concerned about too much general DR overall)

I don't think +2 Stats makes any sense as we've had no benefit ever touching any of the stat line. These were all defensive item so a token that results in a bonus to hit and damage doesn't sit right with me no matter how short its wording is.

+2 to all attributes, +1 AC & Saves would about equal the individual rings, minus the damage resistance.
