TOPIC: Fewer Runs on Friday

Friday sales haven't always been great, so it's probably not a surprise, but there are now only 10 runs being offered on Friday starting at 7:12pm.

Sadness! That's going to severely curtail the number of runs I get to do in November...

I don't suppose there's any chance of adding a few Fri 5pm-ish time slots to the mix?

(I guess it's theoretically possible to run twice on Fri if you snag a ticket to both 7:12 and 9:00, but I suspect demand for this will exceed supply, especially if trying to do organized full runs)

That is a bummer. I usually run with a group around 6 pm on Friday (plus or minus 12-24 minutes), and often do the hedgehog run toward the end of the night.

That's going to be rough for our crew, too. We need to run Friday because I usually work weekends, and we usually aim for a slot in the 6pm CST range. There's going to be a lot of competition for those early slots now, I think :/

I, too, wish there were a few earlier options.

I understand if TD has run the numbers, and decided that there's only enough players to fill up x Friday slots, so they want to reduce the number, so they have fewer empty or barely-filled slots... but I wish the change wasn't quite so drastic.

Yes, this. Having even a few more runs on Friday evening—say, starting around 5:24 or 6–would be very helpful.

Yes, this. Having even a few more runs on Friday evening—say, starting around 5:24 or 6–would be very helpful.

It was implied to me that if tickets for the scheduled runs sell quickly that they would add another 10 runs prior to the current schedule.

I think from a volunteer standpoint they are trying to minimize breaks in the schedule.

It would be ideal if those earlier 10 runs happen. Totally understand trying to avoid a situation where it starts at 3 pm or something and the first run sells out, a few tickets to the following runs sell but there are entirely unsold runs, and then the sold-out runs don't start until later in the evening. Fingers crossed we get "first run starts roughly when most folks on Eastern/Central time are getting out of work on Friday." That said, sales of the 7:12-9 pm runs might be hampered by folks waiting to see if the 5:12-7 pm runs get added, thereby allowing folks who are so inclined to do two runs that evening.

It seems strange, since there was a good push to VTD at Gen Con. Also, the Normal runs filled very quickly for VTD25. I would think a move for newer players would be needed, but maybe there was something in the TD feedback at Gen Con.

VTD25 has no runs on Friday except the Patron runs. Earlier VTD than VTD25 definitely has groups of time where ticket sales lagged.

I'll also say I'm a bit disappointed in fewer Friday runs. I always liked taking off a bit early Friday afternoon to get my run in and still have the weekend free.
