Store inventory is not a reliable guide to the overhang of junk URs like Grunnel’s pointy stick - few people bother to list them because they don’t move even at $15.

There are probably hundreds of Turkey Legs if Smiting and Grunnel sticks sitting idle in collections now, more than any other UR except URTEs.

Okay there are hundreds. That’s 5 Omni cubes per 100 lol. And if there are none for purchase then I fail to see how this is accessible to 99% of the player base and therefore why it’s remotely a problem.

Do promo items like pointy sticks & turkey legs count? I thought I read somewhere that it was only regular set URS?

This revision that was edited out and noted by Druegar. The Omni tokens are still more expensive than buying the token even with the change lol, but at least maybe a couple more will be made in a different way.

I'm wondering if the intent of the edit was to remove the "2018 or more recent" qualification and accidentally also removed the "Standard Pack UR" bit. I guess we'll see if that gets added back in. I hope that it does, as personally I don't think Turkey Legs and Grunnel's Sticks were intended to be UR level value. I think if they stay in, large numbers of them would suddenly become available.

It should allow any UR if you are going to allow pre-2018 URs.

The bonus URs in an 8k order are 25% or less them the URs you get not counting the random 9-10 URs.

I agree with this 100%, the point of using these in the recipes is to clean up old UR's that have been obsoleted. Opening it up to all UR's breaths new value into old obsolete tokens both from a transmute path but also from a collectability standpoint, some old UR's are going to get scarce. It will be that much harder to amass a collection like Trent's. Wasn't the 2018 put on for counterfeit issues though?

It's not reflected in beta 5, but the next update will include some changes to the Omni recipes:
  • The URs must be of the Standard Pack* variety. This applies to all Omni recipes.
  • If you’re not certain whether an Ultra Rare token is part of the Standard Set for that year, look the token up on tokendb.com. If it says "Source: Standard Pack" in the stat block, that token is one of the Standard Pack tokens. If the Source of the UR you're looking up shows anything other than "Standard Pack", that UR is not eligible for an Omni recipe.
  • The recipe for Omni Orb that does not include Trade items now requires 6 URs (down from 10)
  • The recipe for Omni Cube that does not include Trade items now requires 12 URs (down from 20)
  • The number of URs required for the two Omni recipes that include Trade tokens has not changed (2 for Cube, 1 for Orb), but these must also come from the Standard Pack pool.
*Each print run, there are exactly 20 Ultra Rares that can be found in 10-packs. These are also the URs that are available in the two year PYP cycle. This is the pool of URs that are eligible for use in an Omni recipe.
Have you looked it up in the TDb ?
Please post TDb corrections in this thread .

Thanks. These changes make a lot of sense.

Do they?

I don't know what the fear is with using URs that were 1 per $1000. So what if they go for $5-$20 now? When the supply dwindles, they will go up in value and, eventually, something else will be the most worthless URs in circulation.

And, this is all just to make stuff that do nothing on their own.

I'd rather the TG version of the Orb recipe be more expensive for 2025 and have alt at like 8x of any URs in existence since Omni recipes change every year and can reduce the UR requirements as the supply of URs gets drained and average cost of URs rises. If it doesn't rise, then the alt recipes failed to do their jobs, anyway.

Thanks! I'd still like to see some of the Relic/Legendary recipes also include any standard pack UR, as I'm not sure how many URs the Omni recipes are going to pull out of circulation. But, if that doesn't happen, they can always be added to Relic/Legendary recipes next year if the Omni recipes don't have enough impact.
