TOPIC: Gencon 2024

So I got to try true dungeon for the first time on Saturday and I’m already looking forward to next year. How fast does this typically sell out? Iv never tried buying tickets, but I’m going to this upcoming con thanks in advance!

Congratulations on your first True Dungeon at GenCon. Tickets for the events sold out in a matter of hours for 2023. Before events go live you set up your wish list and submit immediately when they go live. Then you hope you can get tickets.

There were runs that were looking for more (LFM) posted on the forums. These are adventurers who bought a full run and sell the tickets they do not need. There is usually a GenCon Ticket Index post that lists what is available.

Due to events in people's lives there were tickets that were returned during the days leading up to GenCon 2023. You have to keep looking to see if tickets become available. For instance, a full run became available the week beforre GenCon. Check both the forum and the GenCon Ticket site.

Awesome thank you for the info. By full runs do you mean all three adventures? Also those place mat character equipment sheets are they for sale anywhere?

A full run is all 10 tickets for one adventure in one time slot. The token map is not availble for sale but is listed under the resources tab on the forum (Resources tab is at the top of this page). I have not tried to print it.

I also recommend that you download the True Dungeon Character Generator App that is used for VTD (Virtual). The App makes it easier to see things and when at live events the coach can take your stats from it.

Something to consider, Jeff does run these at several other cons, and if you are close enough. They rarely sell out fast like Gencon. And they are all more affordable. You also have the option of doing the virtual TD runs.

Ya as soon as I posted I went pokeing around the virtual thing seems kinda cool anyone use that? Seem like you just download zoom and have your character already made up.

Virtual is a very different feel from in person TD, but it's a lot of fun too! As you said, the main thing is to have your character pre built either in the app or the website. Hope to see you there!

We all play VTD In person will always be better for most but VTD has a lot of fun features. I enjoy rolling the D20's and seeing everybody's results. A lot of work has gone into it and it runs pretty smoothly with tdcharactercreator.com or the phone app.

Best experience IMO is Zoom on laptop/desktop and character on phone (or 2nd monitor)
