TOPIC: 2023 Beta Token Images

2023 Beta Token Images 2 years 8 months ago #1

Hey all,

With the help of the awesome folks in the Lords and Ladies section (+5th level), we have crafted this beta showing of all the tokens in the upcoming 2023 Treasure Token Collection. Some of the items have a pirate, steampunk and ghostly theme, and adventures next year should have a pirate/ghost theme. Also, the steampunk items are from an organization of Grave Hunters who use steampunk weapons and equipment to investigate and deal with troublesome ghostly areas. These tokens should arrive in December or January, but much is up in the air due to continuing supply issues.

Thank you for your feedback on these token images! I hope you find some tokens that excite you.

Best Regards,

Jeff

Jeff, for the weapons that deal their damage as an element type, is it just the damage from the wheel itself that is of that damage type? Or do all your untyped bonuses to damage get treated as that type?

As an example, if wielding a +2 Sun Scimitar, would only the 5/6/7/8/9/10 from the wheel be Fire damage? Or would your damage bonus from STR also get treated as Fire damage?

Jeff, will you be sharing the planned completion tokens and special tokens (treasure box only, volunteer, $1k/$8k bonuses, etc) soon?

Good question. Much to ponder here. Let me talk to the TD team about this tomorrow.

The plan is to share what we can. I'd like to leave a few surprises...but I will make sure Druegar gives them a good look.

As to why you are putting the transmute tag on all GP tokens. Is it only because they are generally used for transmutes? All tokens rare and below can be used for transmutes. GP tokens can be used to at least power Ash's Death Pouch (and bribing certain NPC's), so I am slightly confused as to why they would get the transmute tag and everything else rare and below don't. If it is to just let new players know there are transmutes, I am fine with that.

I should have done this long ago so newbies can understand primarily what the GP tokens are for in TD. All other tokens have some in-game use, but GP tokens can confuse newbies because 99% of the time they can't be used in an adventure.
