TOPIC: LFO - R2 Weird Magic - Sat 3:37 PM

LFO - R2 Weird Magic - Sat 3:37 PM 2 years 7 months ago #1

Greetings, fellow adventurers! Let’s work out classes ahead of time so we walk in with builds ready.

We three are NM equipped and preferred but willing to do HC.
1) Elf preferred (alternate Druid, Cleric, or Wizard). Elf casts Alertness every room.
2) Barbarian preferred (alternate any melee type).
3) Human fighter preferred (alternate Dwarf fighter or other melee type).

We are bringing lots of healing potions and scrolls.
Have rare-level loaner gear for most slots for all classes.

Looking forward to the run!

Hi Andy, I've got 6 of the remaining 7 for this run. We are well equipped for hardcore, and I can build around your elf wizrd, barbarian, and human fighter. We might be able to play NM, but I worry a little about the ability to hit for everyone. We also are missing one body, and if one person objects it's a no go. Would likely add Druid, Bard, Wizard, Paladin, Ranger, Dwarf Fighter. or sub in a Rogue for Ranger/Wizard.

Jeff,
We are totally fine with Hardcore, and are glad we can have compatible classes.
As for the last person, I am happy to provide a Rare loaner set, give healing potions, and commit to spending a restore-from-death potion if needed if that will make the person more comfortable with Hardcore.

Sounds good. I'll have builds prepared for every class so hopefully we can absorb the rando easily.

What is the item(s) that allows the elf wizard to cast alertness every room?

I have two charm of good fortunes, one charm of synergy, and one charm of awakened synergy. Any of these on your end?

Great!

There are two items that let the elf cast Alertness in every room. The far cheaper (Uncommon, costs about one dollar) is the Medallion of Energy, which takes up the neck slot. Since a +10 on Initiative rolls will probably give each party member 1-2 additional combat actions per run -- plus saving on healing when the party gets in the first strike -- that token is absolutely incredible bang for the buck.

The UR token (which I have) is the +2 Staff of Power. Same effect, but it frees up the neck slot. Please note that since neither token actually uses up the Alertness spell, in the final room's actual battle if you have a Charm of Spell Swapping you can turn that spell into a level-0 attack spell.

As for group buff tokens, we have Charms of Awareness but no CoGF or CoAS. Someday, though ....
