TOPIC: Last-minute Participation token adds

We realized we wanted to offer unique participation tokens for all our events next season, both in-person and virtual. To that end, we've added a few more. Please have a look and let us know if there are any issues.

Charm of Thorns is nice.

Boots of the Buccaneer - we've seen +2 Dex on a lot of boots, would be great to get a different effect
FoP: Parrot - the Parrot seems very dim, would be nice if it could "pop" a bit, maybe even be colorful!
FoP: Fish - this is a funny looking fish.

VTD has +2 dex and +1 dex boot already. If this is of concern

Charm of barbs & charm of thorns:
Retribution damage is way too low. Most retribution tokens don't do enough damage. These need to double (to 2 & 4) at least, if not more.

May I suggest that Charm of Thorns be changed to Charm of Reflection which does +2 retribution damage from a ranged hit. I think the Charm of Thorny Barbs (2020 Rare) covers exactly the thorns...but if we look at reflection, it can also introduce a LOW value reflect ability that may end up being much more useful in dungeons since MOST hits are not Melee from monsters these days.

The Figurines do not have the Darkwood Plank symbol at the top of the Token.

There are some nice ones there, and none of them jump out at me immediately as being overpowered.

One thought is on the Figurine of Power: Fish. If there won't be any more underwater adventures for a few years (just a guess) and if this were the only adventure a newer player is doing, it might seem kind of useless to them to get a participation token after the adventure that would have only been of use to them on the adventure they just finished.

Is there any chance, for this one uncommon participation token at least, that groups on Normal mode (I'm not worried about anyone getting it on Nightmare/Epic mode) could get it at the start of the adventure, so they can have it while it's still useful to them? I wouldn't mind a change to where all groups on Normal Mode get their Uncommon Participation tokens at the start, because those are the players that are most likely to have a spot for them in their build for that adventure. It might actually be one of the best tokens some newer players would have.

The 3 rare Ioun Syones are all basically UR volunteer tokens with a VERY minor drawback. Perhaps -1 AC and -1 saves?
Same thing for the stat boosting charms., as these are almost as good as the very recently volunteer tokens.

Maybe shift some charms out to other slots? Personal preference is for anything that doesn't transmute to Plank or silk, but not really important.

Charm of Thorns is basically Charm of Thorny Barbs, right? Either way, I do like them and want them to stay. I'd be thrilled if they went to +2/+4 or +2/+3, but I am a self aware lover of retribution damage. Perhaps move this to ioun Stone, traditionally a defensive slot that doesn't have any retribution damage as yet.

Either way, I think the biggest thing to address is how close some of these are to volunteer UR tokens.

This is a really great idea.

+1 on pretty much everything, but very much agree that these are exceptionally close to the volunteer UR tokens.
