TOPIC: Playing with builds

Being new to TD, I am trying to experience all of the cons in the year - that was until PAX West was added - anyway, 4 out of 5 ain't bad. My impression so far is that Gencon is the big daddy and is likely the most serious with runs being more difficult to come by / buy out. It also seems that Gamehole con is far more relaxed, and possibly a venue where some alternate types of runs can be done (Mini-Marathon / Bloody Nightmares / etc.).

I was considering two types of runs and wanted to see what the community thought.
1 - Pyramid Run - Nightmare
So here you would be allowed
1 Legendary
2 Relics
3 URs
4 Exalted
5 Enhanced
6 Rare
7 UC
8 Common

This would be a total of 36 tokens - most likely 3 already accounted for as TE's. This would also exclude any Eldritch and premium items. Only exception here would be the Nobility token for the extra TE.

Thoughts? Would a group with these builds manage Nightmare?

The next type of run would be the Dungeon Bling Streak. As the title suggests, bling can be used, but other than that, the character is totally nude. So build can include Bead, Charm, Ear, Eyes, Figurine, Finger, Ioun Stone, Mainhand (and offhand), Neck, Runestone, and slotless. Anything else is not allowed.

Thoughts?

Both of these run types would need co-ordination and all 10 slots purchased. The co-ordinator would need to get builds before hand to vet the validity of the build, but I think it could be a good challenge to see what folks can come up with.

i think it would be easier than the 8 token we ran.

I like the pyramid idea! That is a more interesting build challenge to me than a 7/8 token restriction. Personally I would exclude TEs from the challenge and just say no TE restrictions. Everyone is going to use them all anyway.

I do think Gamehole is the best place for this. By then many of us will have done the dungeon already and be looking to mix it up.

Cool idea - you could also insert eldrtich between Legendary and Relic, so people can get their level bump from their 2 Eldritch pieces.

Interested but i'm in the i'll deal with GHC after Gen Con and now possibly PAX West mode. I'm on the assume we're all using greed and not worry about restrictions on that.
