Once again I had a great con. I got to bring my teenagers to play TD again. They are all-to-rapidly growing up, and in the middle high school years. Weekends playing games with them are beyond special for me. Exhausting, of course, but very, very, special. My eldest drove part of the way back to Chicago this time (she did great).
I would like to take a minute to thank:
1) all the great Volunteers - the games never happen without you. From checking us in, to teasing us in the set up and coaching rooms, the always brilliant NPCs who have to step under the lights and get into character every few minutes for hours on end, and our combat DMs this year were particularly awesome! I can honestly say that even with a barrage of new and complicated tokens, combat has never moved smoother.
2) To all the new friends we made who heard BeLinda’s Call to Adventure and decided to play with us. Thank you for not being put off by a few clever teenage girls, or their dad with the loud voice and off-color jokes. Thanks especially to Flik our new Honorary guildy who stomped through all 5 games with us! Guildy McGuildface loved playing with you all!
3) A huge thanks to Jeff, Lori and the TD staff for this wonderful game and community they have built. You make it easy for us to come together and play.
4) most of all I want to thank Brian, BeLinda and Chris - my Rogue, Wizard and Barbarian who tore up the dungeons, never got stressed out at the kids, and are always awesome to game with. Next Lara Bar is on me!
