Hey all,
I just wanted to leave a post here talking about how much fun I ended up having. Years ago I remember hearing about True Dungeon and thinking it was a pretty cool thing. After I got into the stadium and sat down at the table I was uncontrollably jubilant! Got to play what I wanted, had a good mix of veterans and newbies, and I feel like I got to have one the the best experiences I've ever had. Super happy that I finally got around to doing it and with such wonderful people. A lot of the people that I met kept telling me to go to the forums and leave a note, so here I am!
I did want to say thank you to each and every one of you for being an amazing part of the community and that I'm looking forward to playing again. I would love to get to know some of you and maybe join a group if they'll have me!
I did have one question for you all. I played rogue all 3 times and I had an absolute blast. Is there a way to "build a kit" or should I just keep trying to gather stuff as I keep going to future events? Shoutout out to anyone who was in my groups and ended up doing fun roleplay stuff with me.

Welcome!

There are many ways to build up your collection. Buy directly from the TD store, be it single packs or the higher tier orders. Also you will find token stores and others sellers. Some sell full builds. Trading with other players is also a thing.
D&D teaches all the important lessons in life - the low blow, the cheap shot, the back stab, the double cross. - Jerry Marsischky

Let them trap us. We have our swords. - Elric of Melnibone.

You try to get them to play the game, but all they want to do is play the rules. - Ardak Kumerian

I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend - Faramir

Do you have any recommendations from where? I saw the booth in the exhibit hall but didn't make the time to stop for it. I know I was looking at TD Tavern's website to kind of get a feel of what other items were out there.
Also thank you for welcoming me! This community has been great so far!

Assuming you want to spend the least amount of money or trades. My recommendation first is search the forums. There is a section where lots of folks have stuff for trade or sale. Often forumites have things at better prices than anyone else because they don't have to pay for a website. After that there are a number of websites that have tokens for sale. TD Tavern, Trent's tokens, Discount Dungeon, and I know I am missing a few (for that I apologise I am not recommending these 3 above others just lumping them all together). Lastly I would recommend any dealer in the dealer hall just because they are likely to be most expensive.

Www.tdtavern.com sells full builds that run you 30-40 dollars.

As someone who played since 2011 but only very recently started getting deeper into token builds, here are some things I wish I'd known at first:
  • It's much cheaper to buy singles than it is to get random 10-packs and hope. Sellers often have pre-set builds as well that can get you well on your way. Trent Tokens is a good example :)
  • The light blue transmutes can be really good, and are often cheaper to buy than to try acquiring the necessary recipes for. The Whetstone this year is particularly good, as it's useful across a lot of classes and makes almost
  • If you're looking to kit out a full party, the auctions run on this forum can be very cost-effective if you bid on packs of 120 random rares. The 2020 token preview are up already in the forums if you want to peruse. There's some really good stuff there.
  • If you like Rogue, make sure as all get out to find a copy of the Hood from this year. +1 AC and sneak attack without a round delay. Really nice :)

Welcome!

Buying individual tokens is usually a better bet than random packs.

Check out the Uncommonly good tokens post in my signature for some suggestions on the game and a spreadsheet of useful and affordable tokens.

Check out the Rogue area in the guildhouse section for more tips and ideas!

Definitely get yourself a hood of shadows!

@jedibcg -- thanks for the suggestions, I'll take a look tonight and see what I can find!

@Nick S - That's good to know, might be a good place to springboard off of. Thanks!

@Marcques Domask - That's good. I kind of took a similar stance on magic the gathering so good to know that applies here too. Also going to have to look into transmuting and see what I can find out about it. I've got quite a few spare things I won't be using. I did go in with a couple of people so I'll have to see what they think about going in on an auction. Thanks for the tips!

@Trent - Thanks Trent! I'm so pumped to play again!

@Milambus - Thanks for the link. Good to know there's a place to kind of cross references pricing and such!

@Matthew Hawyard - Can do! I'll try to navigate the forums after work to find the guildhouse information.

Also thank you everyone for the tips, Hood of Shadows here I come!

I have one last suggestion. Try negotiating with those on the forums because the price listed isn't always the final price.

Welcome to the forums and welcome to true dungeon!

I'm going to echo sentiments to check out people's trades and stores posted here as well as the individual class sections of the forums. In particular I'd recommend this thread, as I feel Endgame has done a great job of going over a good token starting path for rogues:
