TOPIC: N1/N2/N3 & Free Movement

N1/N2/N3 & Free Movement 6 years 2 months ago #1

I have an irrational fear of Hold, Slow, & other Hindrances.

Does anyone know of any specific instances of when Free Movement got you out of a sticky situation during N1/N2/N3?

I've made some decisions with my build and I'm dropping my former means of Free Movement.

I'm totally planning to transmute Bead of the Lucky Traveler, but that doesn't help with the 2019 campaign.

Just trying to figure out how much the lack of free movement might affect me if I don't figure out another way to work it back into my build next season.

I haven’t seen the modules yet - but I n1 and n2 on hardcore and n3 on nightmare without free movement and didn’t notice any ill effects.

Usually I expect maybe 1 combat room in 4 to care about free movement in some way

One room had an AoE with a save that Free Action helped with in N2.

I certainly don’t remember that coming up N2 and I ran that one 4 or 5 times. Maybe the dice gods were favoring the party’s I was with.

Free movement is on the party card - dms don’t announce they are resolving a free movement related effect - they just do it.

I get that but I thought I would notice my friends taking damage while I didn’t

Free action doesn't usually involve damage. I don't know what this module called for, but I'd expect it to be like this:

The MONSTER does an EFFECT. Players must make a DC-20 Reflex save. If they fail they may not take offensive actions next round. Players with free movement are immune to this effect.

They might have to start to since one of the Psionics effects is "Freedom of Movement" so they are going to have to start to announce it .

I don't recall any such power.
