TOPIC: A thank you from Don the Trainer

So I made sure to thank every group personally, and this is for all the volunteers and groups I wasn't able to.

For those that follow, things out here haven't been good for a couple years and pretty much aren't getting better. There are days I just want to give up and have to look hard for something to hang on to. What you guys see at TD is what I used to be 24/7/365. It feels good to be able to be the old me just a little, even though it's exhausting.

Everyone coming to run TD means I get to come be the hype man/trainer/whatever I do that people seem to like. There have been times when that's one of the only things I have left to look forward to.

So, enough with the sob story and I won't bore you with any more details.

Thank you all for coming and playing, and giving me a reason sometimes when I need one. You are all part of my coping mechanism and I appreciate it.

I for one fully appreciate the knowledge, enthusiasm and passion you bring to my TD runs. I look forward to your training rooms. I hope life gets better for you in general and sincerely hope to see you again next year.

Driving home from Gencon, we were talking about TD and one of my new initiate players said to me... You know, that Don guy in the training room was really great!

We had several trainers over the weekend and none had nearly as much passion. We all very much appreciate it.
