TOPIC: Pun guns are expiring? UPDATED: Pun Guns Allowed after 2025!

I just noticed this in tokendb today
"The Pun Curse, whether removed or not, expires at 11:59 pm on December 31, 2025. After that, this token may not be used in an adventure–in any capacity."
I've been using the pun gun since getting one at Origins. At GHC, I organized a run of people using nothing but pun guns. It may have been the most fun of any run I've done in many years.
It's a silly item and not terribly disruptive.

Please let us keep using them after December 31st. The tokendb note could just say, "the curse expires Dec 31st, 2025. Players may still use the pun gun after that but aren't cursed beyond that point so the puns are optional. You may lose your dad-joke card for failing to say the puns but there is no in-game penalty."

Please reconsider this ruling. Thank you!

Seconded, letting the pun gun keep its pun requirement would be a gifting day miracle, or we'd shoot our eyes out, one way or the other though I hope the puns can continue.

As a pun gun owner, I concur. The Pun Gun brought plenty enjoyment at GameHole Con. I've told the story plenty of times. Would love to see the capability continue.

I, for one, would love to see the Pun Guns continue to be playable tokens after December 31, 2025. The GHC Pun Gun Run was ridiculously funny. If a bunch of goofballs want to run NM wielding only pun guns, who does it hurt? (Other than the DMs’ brains? Sorry, DMs.)

On Friday afternoon, when she asked for a weapon so she could help in the fight, someone else was about to hand her a really good weapon when I had the same brilliant idea you did; I stopped my party-mate, quickly pulled out the pun gun and handed it to her, chuckling the whole time. She looked at it, groaned, and said something to the effect of "Not again!"

Commenting to also stand in support of #punGun2026AndBeyond.

It would be very pun-ishing to deprive us of this linguistic weapon.

At least I helped her be prepared for when you went through Then again on Saturday. She was probably my favorite NPC all GHC and such a great sport. Massive kudos to her for rolling with it so well. Hope she does more roles in the future.

Or mayhaps use them in a recipe to make a legendary Pun item.
