TOPIC: How do YOU hold your tokens in the in person runs??

How do YOU hold your tokens in the in person runs?? 2 weeks 6 days ago #1

Hi there! We've been doing TD since 2021 and have really gotten into it. We're looking for a way to bring in consumable tokens for the in person runs at GenCon and are looking to know how you more seasoned players go into the runs with your tokens.
I'm not talking about all your gear, we have that covered. I'm talking about your healing potions, or damage increasers, etc.
We once saw some people who had these cool clear bracers that you could slot tokens in for use, kinda looking for something similar-ish. Anyone have any leads or suggestions?

Consider simple: Use the cloth bags the tokens come in. Heals in left pocket, ammo/buffs in the right. The bracers, vests and sashes are great for holding your build, but not for pulling tokens loose. Back in 2010, I found a clear hard plastic tube that'll hold 15 tokens stacked: I put 3 resurrect to full on bottom, 5 resurrect to 1 HP, then 7 heal 10pt tokens on top. Cloth bag has boost potions, and the indispensable 'Remove Woe' scrolls.
You still got hit points! Get back in there and fight!!

I use Dansco 7007 Casino Chip books. They hold 45 tokens total (5 pages of 9 each).
It becomes my spellbook with scrolls and potions.
Easy to carry and quick to see what you are looking for.

I have a cool token holder that looks like a potion I use for healing tokens

That is OOS but this is pretty close and holds 20 easily.

I also like to carry one of these in my pocket, and use it for treasure enhancers as well.

I have a 3d printed potion bottle that Trent sold that has 4 spots on the outside that hold my weapons and FoP's. Then inside it holds around 20 tokens. That's where the healing potions go.

Yes that's the one I have as well, but is OOS at the moment. Also has a nice carabiner.

Personally, I use a combination of things:
Frequently used scrolls and potions:
3d Printed potion bottle w/ magnets - they are sometimes available on Trent's site (I'd link to it but I can't find it there right now.) It holds about 20ish tokens inside and 8(?) on the outside.
-I have mine just for healing potions
Whitman Coin Wallet - holds 24 tokens - great for commonly used ones. They are available on Kirk's site www.tdtavern.com/accessories/whitman-coin-wallet.html
- I have 1 wallet for scrolls, 1 for potions
3 ring binder - I use this sparingly and don't recommend it for frequently accessed tokens. I use it to keep a copy of all the scrolls C-UC for the tome of useful scrolls (ie I don't have to turn them in.)

Once you start having a LOT of tokens, a carrying case is a consideration. Until you exceed 60+ tokens, the aluminum coin cases work but can't handle more weight than around 60 tokens (I had two fall apart on me.) Similarly, the binders are good until you get to a lot of tokens then you have problems of them falling out or shifting around.

Personally, I have a Pelican case with foam protection and trays for American Eagle coins (almost identical size to tokens) for transporting more valuable tokens to a con and carrying them around. The cases are virtually indestructible but it means you are carrying 5-10 pounds of weight just from the case. Full of tokens, it is a good 40 pounds.
What do we want? Evidence based science! When do we want it? After peer review!
