TOPIC: Thanks to the Players and Volunteers for a Great Gamehole Con!

Thanks to the Players and Volunteers for a Great Gamehole Con! 20 hours 21 minutes ago #1

The last truck is away, and the folks at TD HQ are heading home today. We wanted to hop on here to give out a BIG thank you to all the volunteers and players who made GHC 2025 a whole bunch of fun! The event ran very smoothly thanks to the amazing efforts of the build crew -- as well as the event crew. The complicated adventure went up in record time, and it was run very well by the event folks. I'd like to give a special shout-out to Paul, Raven and Kim who delivered a very fun True Grind event.

Thank you players for your support at GHC. We love going to this Con, and having such nice and appreciative players is the main reason we love it so. Thanks for allowing us to have so much fun putting on an adventure for you all. Until next year!

Thank you to the entire TD team for a wonderful 2024 GHC! The Dune Viper sets were fantastic (I especially liked the twisty passages). The DMs and NPCs knocked it out of the park. I especially want to shout out James and Phil for their fantastic DMing and Brit for being a terrific room 7 NPC. Front of house staff was amazing as always.

Grind, of course, was great. Picc, Raven, Kim and Scott did a fantastic job. The Lava Fiend quest was a great addition.

I second that HUGE Thank you to all our players, and to the TD crew who took such good care of us volunteers at GHC this past weekend!

Special thanks to:
* Picc for the amazing Grind module, which really evoked the chaos and logistic struggles of a World of Warcraft raid
* Stephen Donovan for his excellent coaching & player wrangling of some extremely token-heavy parties, especially those who had to swap equipment at the last minute to buff their fire resistance stats ; )
* Kim, our newly minted "Caster DM" for handling all the spells and consumables, as well as the Epilogue / treasure component of Grind. Things ran so much smoother on the combat boards, with you manning the mana!
* Jo, our (first ever?) Grind NPC who could interact with players outside of Grind proper, and hand out some fun Quests!
* All of the players who brought their A games, and followed their Raid Leaders like smooth and well-oiled machines, as well as the occasional Leroy Jenkins-type who ignored those carefully laid plans, resulting in TPKs as parties ran out of time.

I wish we could have more Grind slots available, but I'll admit it was also fun to catch a bit of the Con here & there. Hopefully we can bring Grind to more Cons in the future.

Thanks to the entire TD team for another memorable TD at GHC experience!

The side quest before Grind with a roaming NPC was unexpected and awesome! And big shouts to Raven, Picc, Kim, and Stephen for making Grind more epic than I ever could have imagined. (I didn't think last year could be topped but you guys did it!)

Everyone running Viper was also amazing and special shouts to the spider blue hand in room 1, James for his lively combat DMing, and the amazing combo of Phil and Britt for bringing the crazy final battle interactions!

I also want to thank John, Caitlin, and Brendan for their help before and during the con.

Finally, massive shouts to Trent for bringing us all together for his party! Every year, it takes me right back to the camaraderie I first felt at True Dungeon Celebration all those years ago.

Massive kudos to everyone in the main dungeon. Dune Viper was a total blast. From the NPCs to the puzzles everyone totally nailed it.

Also a big thanks to everyone on the admin side of things for all the hard work you do to make it possible for the rest of us to do our things in the dungeon.

And to everyone who helped with or came through grind. Thank you so much for making GHC a truly memorable experience in the best possible way.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. TD has the best community anywhere full stop :)

I'll add my two cents onto this thread. A BIG thank you to the TD Team--JEFF, LORI, JOHN, TROY, MATTHEW, CAITLIN, (plus anyone I have forgotten) and all of the NPC'S, Blue Hands, and the BUILDERS of the Dune Viper Dungeon.

TRIE GRIND---A VERY SPECIAL THANK YOU TO PICC, RAVEN, KIM and JO for making Grind a truly memorable and exciting experience. They knocked it out of the park again this year. The side quest with the NPC was new and appreciated. The clues in each of the Viper Dungeon rooms added to the total experience. The narrative flowed well and was expertly delivered by Paul with Raven supplementing many tidbits. Paul's delivery was vibrant and so lively that it often made us chuckle at what was happening. Even though we were victims of a TPK we were so thrilled to be a part of the adventure and the shenanigans that were happening.

Temple of the Dune Viper---The sets were quite realistic for the desert with the holding rooms and winding, twisty passages adding to the flavor of the adventure. The puzzles were challenging, requiring teamwork but solvable. They allowed for out-of-the-box thinking for alternate solutions. The monsters were formidable--the animatronics combined with the sound effects made more than one adventurer jump. Shout outs to James (Room 1 Spider DM) for his lively commentary and to Phil (Room 7 DM) and Brittany (NPC Room 7) for their commentary and acting subtleties. All of the NPC's and DM's did a fantastic job adding to a memorable time for all adventurers.

A GREAT BIG SHOUT OUT TO TRENT AND JIN FOR THEIR GENEROSITY! They put on a fantastic pizza and drink shindig. The door prizes were out of this world. Congratulations to all of the winners of the free door prizes and the raffle items.

Thank you to BEAU for bringing CRITICAL HIT SODA to GHC. We sure enjoy the special drink mixes.

PS--I would be remiss if I did not mention the IDOL trading that occurred in Trent's Lounge. The Idols were a big hit this year as were the tinkers two years ago. They create a lot of interaction within the TD community. I am proud to be a member of such a giving and sharing community.

Grind was great! Thanks to the whole team involved with that. I volunteered for Install for the second year in a row, and it’s always fun to see the creation and quick disassembly of a complete dungeon. Like getting to know the other vols and putting faces with forum and discord names. Looking forward to next year!

+1 to all of the above, and extra special thanks to all the combat DMs and NPCs for indulging our Order of the Hedgehog shenanigans. :) Both adventures were filled with hilarious moments, and we even got our very own special version of the Grind pin!

Wow! What an amazing weekend. A simple thank you hardly seems sufficient to express the gratitude felt, but it will have to suffice. I'd love to thank everyone by name, but am afraid I'd miss several who should not be overlooked. So, thank you to all the creative minds that provide us with so much entertainment. Thank you to all the DMs who put up with our crazy shenanigans and then surprise us with a few twists of their own. Thank you to all the volunteers whose efforts allow us to temporarily live in such an amazing world and who keep things running so smoothly. And thank you to such a wonderful community for making this wandering soul feel at home.

I can't wait to see everyone again next year, but until then we'll have to reach out and share our love for this game and each other virtually.
