Mike said I could take over if we want to continue the keeper fantasy football league this year.
I'm interested in doing it again. Depending on how many people return, it would determine whether it is just renewing the prior the league or establishing a new one.
I'm thinking of a $100 buy-in with us placing a $1K order (or larger if more than 10 players.) 1st place winner gets first choice on the tokens ordered (including any golden tickets), 2nd place gets second choice, etc.. Once we get past all URs and pre-order extras, then it will be bags of rares, uncommons, etc.. Alternatively, we could make it a cash league again and just run it that way.
I'll throw in some extra tokens as well into the pool (probably $500-$1,000 worth). I was also thinking of adding something entirely different for the winner like a bottle of really nice tequila (Marquis Case Noble Anejo, Don Julio 1942, or similar) or a nice bottle of wine or something like that as well.
League details:
Super-flex (you can start 2 QBs) and in all but 2 slots start WR, TE, or RB (the other 2 also include QB eligible). No kickers.
Auction bidding - $200 budget
Keeper league - meaning you can keep a handful of players from season to season. I believe you can keep up to 5 players. The cost to keep a player is 2x what you paid the prior year (can't keep free agents picked up the prior year.) If you bought a player for $10 last year, you could keep them for $20 this year, then $40 the following year, etc..
PPR with with an extra 1/2 point for each first down.
We're open to adjusting league rules as well for scoring based on interest. At the same time, we should be fair to people with existing players they want to keep (if at least half the league returns.) I was thinking any rule changes should require 70%+ approval from the players.
Ideas for potential rule changes:
Bring QB scoring closer to regular PPR rules (both positive and negative scoring) (remove the penalty for incompletions and sacks and the extra points per completion)
Any interest in adding a defense position? This allows for us to be "Homers" a little and pick our favorite teams for a defense.
Maybe allow a waiver/free agent to be retained the following year for a set amount (like $20?)
Moving from 7 bench slots to 6 but adding another IR slot to encourage more trading, etc..
