TOPIC: 4k suggestion (or 8k)

4k suggestion (or 8k) 6 months 4 weeks ago #1

After the beginning of each token season, pyps decrease in auction value (and are in lower demand.)

At the same time, the desire for trade goods and pieces tied to 2k and 8k orders still have demand.

My suggestion is to have a 4k package. It would have no pyps but the normal extras from 1k and 2k orders (this year that would mean 4 rings, 2 marks, and AG pins.

It would have, primarily, trade goods. Offset the 16 pyps with a commensurate amount of trade goods. Replace the random URs with random 5k bars. Keep the chance for a GT.

To set the amount of extra trade goods, start with estimating what percent of 8k orders are for pyps and the 8k path token (the random urs are already swapped out for 5k bars.) My guess is pyps average around $75 each times 34 (non-onyx order.) That would be roughly $2,500 of the $8k order (or 30%.) Proportionately increase the amount of trade goods based on that calculation. Year to year, adjust the trade good dispersion based on community input (or at whatever level you wish and the market will let you know if you missed.

Because this doesn’t assign specific dollar value for any token, it doesn’t introduce tax related challenges either.

I think this may have community interest if made an option.

Thoughts or anything I missed?

I'm with you, but I think people want the 8k rewards too. If there were an 8k option, super condensed, no PYP, no random UR, but more TGs, that would be great.

"Safehold Super Condensed" was added this year so it seems plausible. Those who bought that (and got Safehold III from it) will need the TGs to progress to Safehold II and I next year.

A 4k would allow those that can't afford an 8K still get access to the extra tokens and trade goods.

I'd support either (or both) a 4K and an 8K option. Both have fits for different audiences.

Maybe even a "no pyp" option at 8k that overloaded on trade goods could work.
