TOPIC: True Dungeon Schedule for 2022

True Dungeon Schedule for 2022 3 years 1 month ago #1

For a host of family issues, it is best for the Martins (i.e. True Dungeon) if we stick close to home as much as possible in 2022. As a result, we are only going to attend these Cons in 2022*:

January: Virtual True Dungeon "Ebony Sail"
February: Virtual True Dungeon "The Sea Hag"
March: Virtual True Dungeon "Isle of Bone"
April: Virtual True Dungeon "Pain of Truce"
May: Virtual True Dungeon "Fortune's Tide"
June: Skull Con
August: Gen Con
September: PAX West
October: Gamehole Con

* - subject to COVID and other unforeseen issues.

We are sorry we cannot attend Origins. It may not have worked out anyway due to changes at Origins, but we hope to be back in 2023. Thank you for your understanding.

Agreed, thank you for the advance notice. (I probably wasn't going to be able to go to both Origins and Skull Con anyway, since we also have an out-of-town family high school graduation in June. At least now I know I won't be missing TD at Origins. Maybe in 2023.) Knowing* the TD schedule really helps for planning time off requests.

*As best as possible given the current state of the world.

Hope all is well for the Martin's in 2022. Thanks for the schedule, I'm excited to get to play TD basically monthly.

Bummer about Origins, but thanks for the super advanced notice. That's the one my group and I were planning on going to in 2022, with no TD there it absolutely won't be. We'll have to figure out if we're doing Gameholecon or GenCon.

That is a difficult choice. I did my first GHC this year and really enjoyed it. It reminded me of what Origins used to be (but much better run.) GenCon is its own thing, though because of its scale and history. I usually do 2 cons per year and Origins currently isn't in my top 2 (possibly not even top 4 dropping below GaryCon and Winter Fantasy.) I'm not sure how you would compare GHC versus GenCon.

Personally I disliked the origins vibe, I wouldn't be sad if TD tried out some other cons.

Thanks Jeff! One less thing to worry about with no Origins...a bummer because it is the nearest con to my house, but was going to be hard to do both Origins and SkullCon. Hopefully back in for 2023 that would be nice. Great to be able to plan the year out.

As someone who also appreciates being able to plan their year in advance, I really appreciate you sharing TD plans for next year. So, cancelled my hotel for Origins and completed reservation for Skull Con. Hoping we don't have any major events that force more schedule changes, but I guess we can only plan based on what we currently know.

Origins was my first con that was more than maybe 100 local geeks, a few artists, and maybe one of the Power Rangers. It has a major soft spot in my heart, and I've had a great time there. I also just love Columbus, the market right next to the convention is fantastic, and there's a lot to love elsewhere in the city. Never been to Gencon, and a few weeks ago was my first GHC. My vote is going to be for GenCon for next year, but we'll see what my group decides.

Jeff,

Any chance of more VTD later in 2022?
