Slack is a real time chat application - think IRC / yahoo instant messenger / google instant messenger.

There are some bells and whistles, but:

1. Download the slack app (or lot it in a web browser).
2. Create an account / log into the channel.
3. Send text messages to the channel / read messages others have placed on the channel.

From just very briefly playing around i think the ability to push notifications via the mobile app is handy. How many times has someone around here (don't answer that Druegar!) posted asking how to get notified of a pm. If enough use Slack, at least around con times itself would make reaching out to folks with updates a little easier i think.

We're all the kind of people who enjoy the game on a "meta" level. We like talking about the game year-round. We buy tokens. We enjoy crafting. We get together during the off-season if we can. We are a very skewed demographic that way. -Raven
