TOPIC: LFO - TDA17117880 - Moonlight - Combat Sat 8:24 PM

I have two tickets in this run. We are relic level characters and can run hardcore without problems. I prefer Wizard and my son prefers Barbarian.

My friends and I have six tickets in this run. We're all basically noobs (a couple of us have played before but we sold all our tokens) and we're planning on running completely fresh with just the 10 starting tokens. So obviously we're going to have to run novice.

No one is going to care much about classes but ideally we'd like to play with people who don't solve all the puzzles because they've already done the run and/or one-shot all the bad guys with their l33t gear. We're very laid back and we're just looking for the experience of TD and we don't want to be geared up with a ton extra tokens, etc. Those of us who've played TD in the past gave up on it because of similar experiences but we're trying again because our other friends have never played TD before and wanted to try it.

It sounds like you and your son have a lot of experience (I have no idea what relic level means). How do you normally approach this situation?

No problem, we are all here to have fun after all. Relic level means we have tokens beyond what you would find in a normal pack of token, but not legendary or Eldritch (well I have one Eldritch token). In the past we have run Naked run (no extra tokens other than treasure enhancing tokens), and have had fun with it. I will talk to my son and see if he is up for it. Even if we use normal character we have to swing for the fences as it were.

As far as puzzles and dungeon surprises, we have a rule, if we have done the run before we don't give away the puzzles. We let the other solve them, and only give hints as time is running out, the goal is to let those that have not run experience the run.

Naked run w/only treasure tokens sounds great if that's how it works out. Thanks for being understanding. I reread my original post and it sounds a touch negative. Apologies if it came across that way. Despite one bad run I still think the experience itself is very cool and I'm looking forward to introducing my friends to it. My first TD run was a blast and I still remember pulling an UR out of my first random 10 pack =]. I think like half of us died that time but it was still a lot of fun, especially compared to the last time my wife and I played when we steamrolled through with super high end gear someone gave us (who I think actually had good intentions).

Anyways, thanks a lot for the post. I can't speak for everyone but I'm sure at least some people (myself included) would be willing to mule some treasure tokens for you all based on whatever the accepted etiquette for that is.
