TOPIC: Condensed Treasure for 2026 VTD?

Condensed Treasure for 2026 VTD? 8 hours 56 minutes ago #1

Introducing Condensed Treasure
We here at TD HQ have been trying to think of ways to streamline the transmuting process so it reduces waste. So, we would like to present to you the option of Condensed Treasure! This is an experiment we will be running this year to see:
1) How well received and widely used it would be by you all.
2) To see how this changes our logistics in practice. If both of these factors turn out well, we will consider making this a permanent option.

This option is only available to those playing VTD AND with Max Treasure (27 Pulls). This limitation helps us keep the logistics simple for this experiment. We apologize to anyone who is interested in this but unable to use it due to this restriction. If Condensed Treasure becomes permanent, we hope to make it available to more players in the future if possible.

What is Condensed Treasure?
Condensed Treasure is similar in design to Super Condensed Token Packs. We transmute the Uncommon and Rare tokens you would have drawn into their respective Trade Goods. With the help of some TD Forumites (Impy and Kirk) we have carefully run the math to insure the proper 2026 ratios are used.

The Condensed Treasure Mix is calculated that each Condensed Treasure Pull is worth 2.876 Standard Treasure Pulls. This means that 10 Condensed Treasure is worth 28.76 Normal Treasure Pulls.

For example, if over the course of the year you amassed 1000 Condensed Treasure Pulls you will have received an identical number of Monster Bits, Chase Tokens, URs, Relics, Legendaries, and other items as someone who had 2876 Treasure Pulls, along with an identical number of trade goods equal to if you had sent in every single Standard Pack Uncommon and Rare for Mulching at the end of the year.

The Trade Good Portion of the treasure mix is mixed in an identical ratio of this year's Uncommons and Rares Trade Good value. Thus, the trade goods you receive will be identical in proportion of each trade good to as if you had been sending in the Standard Pack Uncommons and Rares from the Treasure Mix for mulching.
This is all to say this mix is calculated in such a way there should be ZERO % dilution in treasure value when compared to the normal mix.

How Does It Work?
If you use Condensed Treasure and you are eligible for 27 treasure draws, you'll elect to "condense" your 27 Standard Treasure Pulls into 10 Condensed Treasure Pulls. You will do this during your VTD Epilogue after your adventure. Again, only players who get make the maximum treasure of 27 are eligible for this option. You cannot combine earned Treasure Chips from two or three VTD adventures to obtain this 27 total.

Note: You will effectively be getting 1.76 bonus token draws for using this option as our calculations show that it would normally take 28.76 Treasure Chips to earn 10 Condensed Treasure draws. This is a thank you for helping us to reduce waste. The stack of 10 Condensed Treasure will arrive shrink-wrapped in a platinum-colored sleeve of 10 tokens.

The Ratio of Standard Treasure Pulls to Condensed Treasure Pulls may change in future years if this becomes permanent, as token mixes change slightly year from year.

Please let us know your thoughts on this!

A big thanks to Impy and Kirk for the math help!

I'd be very interested in this as a quartermaster for 6-7 players. It helps skip a step (transmuting), and saves for everyone on shipping and reduces baggie waste!

Great idea, and thanks to all involved in ideation and implementation!

Interesting! I’ll give it a try. Less transmuting sounds good to me.
Classes Played: Barbarian (75 times), Monk (64), Rogue (39), Ranger (37), Cleric (22), Fighter (16), Druid (12), Paladin (11), Dwarf Fighter (11), Bard (8), Elf Wizard (2), Wizard (2)

It’s an interesting idea - although part of the fun of the treasure is turning over each token hoping it’s something special.

As I normally do multiple runs - I might choose one or two to be condensed while still getting some normal packs for the thrill and to collect the Rares I want

This is very exciting -- I love the idea of making our favorite game more environmentally friendly!

I have two thoughts/questions:

1. How long are you planning to offer the experiment before deciding whether it has succeeded? I anticipate that for some folks like myself, condensed treasure will become even more exciting later in the year (once I've collected a few of the new standard-pack rares) compared to at the beginning of the year.

2. For players who run multiple times in the same VTD weekend, will we be able to choose condensed for some of them but regular for others?

Yes, my AC is lower than the Wizard's. No regrets!

This is great. I'd love to see lower rarities removed entirely and this could be a fantastic step in that direction.

Totally agree that this sounds promising, and have the same questions, especially since we won’t be getting 2026 10-packs with VTD treasure.

As someone who lives overseas and does all trade good transmuting in person, I would 100% be interested in this. What would happen in the case of treasure-only rares (e.g. Viking Tankard Duck) and collectable transmutes (idols, runes, etc)?
I play Rogue. Occasionally I even play Rogue well.

Very interesting concept and definitely worth a try. Will the condensed 10-packs include monster bits and treasure chest only items?

Yes, please. Love it.
