TOPIC: Furniture Sliders

Next year could we get furniture sliders for the bottom of the combat tables? I think this would make the combat DM's job a lot easier (and give the group a little bit of extra time) when sliding tables out for combat. Those folding tables with their rubber feet catch on the concrete floor, making the table shake as it's pulled out and put away - sometimes losing pucks in the process (one of my rooms we lost a good couple of minutes because the ranger pucks had fallen off of the table as the DM pulled it out).

AT least one of the tables had tennis balls on the feet. They need to do that with all of them.

YES! Something like this! Or request tables from the convention center that have wheels on one end and stoppers on the other so the DM can pick up and wheel/pivot the table into place. For as much money as TD brings in ($460K+ in ticket sales alone), you'd think the convention center could spring for some nicer tables.

Tennis balls would be a cheap, quick, and effective solution.

I put felt pads on all of the Underdark tables, and I know they did the same In Sable, but some didn't stand up to the constant movement. I researched the tennis balls before leaving Indy and will be making recommendations to Jeff about them.

Tennis balls would probably hold up much better throughout the weekend though. I have seen colors other than green before. Perhaps something can be found that doesn't stand out so much?

On a similar note, is there some way we can grip the tables better? I got several small cuts on my hand during my shifts that I am assuming came from grabbing for a hold under the table constantly.

Not sure about that, since the boards are bigger than the table, but if it happens again, we can tape the areas that were rough/sharp.

As far as the puck holders, they fall off because of a. momentum or b. curtains. They need a bag with a clip to one side of the player end.

For sliding tables, drywall installers use a handle that allows them to grab and hold a sheet - see Gorilla Gripper .
