Oh Boy, Here we go Again!!! Ferret's Horde Auction

That rascally ferret druid, Magellan, once again got my credit card and is ordering a large horde ($16k worth) for the first early-bird order for October. He wants to see who would like to get in on the fun with funding for the items set at only $11,111.00. This Auction will be through the 1st of October so we can be one of the first orders!!!

Auction includes a ton of Purples, Rings and Tenets to help everyone flush out their collections without paying a fortune. There are Epic Oranges, Galaxy Blues, Deep Blacks and everything between that got dragged out encompassing tokens from 2015 to now!

Plus, as part of this auction, we are putting up 53 PYP, 18 Random Purples, 14 Rings of the 2nd Circle, 1 Ring of the 3rd Circle, and 6 Marks of the 2nd Tenet along with a bunch of other tokens.

Please note that the ferret likes shiny things and has run away with the patron pins/codes, fragments, 2 rings and 2 marks for his own horde and thus they along with trade goods and shiny cash are not listed here. Since he has claimed these tokens and I don’t want to lose a hand trying to get them back (and trust me if he has “marked” them you don’t want them anymore either).
I have made the ferret compensate for them by reducing the funding price of the auction and including tokens from his own stash. Additional tokens up for grabs include: 2 Legendary Orange Tokens, a ton of special transmuted items, vintage hard to find tokens, VTD and Volunteer Completion Tokens and more are listed on the link below and others may follow.

For the auction to be successful, the grand total of all bids must meet or exceed $11,111.00 before the deadline. This is a super-fast footed auction like the ferret, so you must keep an eye on it!
Additionally, the ferret is not doing any bidding on any auction items, this is just for friends to take advantage of!

HOW?
Here are the ferret’s demands:
• Send in your bids via a Private Message
• The ferret accepts bids in increments
o Bid less than $10 – 50 cent increases
o Bid between $10 and $50 - $1.00 increases
o Bid over $50 - $5.00 increases
• Winning bid goes to the highest bidder when the auction ends
• If more than one bidder all bid the same amount, first in wins
• When the auction ends, the highest bidder wins the auction and pays for the item by the deadline. If the item(s) are not paid by the deadline, it will go to the next highest bidder.
• Bidding is anonymous – the ferret will name bidders after his favorite snacks or anything else that catches his attention

Those who get in the max bid amounts in first win ties and thus are rewarded by getting their max bids in early. However, the bid will only go up when someone else bids and thus you get it at the lowest price.

WHEN?
Bidding will begin NOW! on September 17th, 2024 at 11:00p.m. Central Time or and will end as soon as the $11,111.00 auction threshold has been met.
If the auction fails to meet the minimum by the end date, the ferret may choose to continue with the auction, fund the remaining himself, or call it off and keep everything in the horde to himself.

COIN?
Payments will only be accepted PayPal via “Friends and Family”. If you wish to discuss other funding options, you must contact the ferret before bidding and get approval. All winning bids will have 48 hours after the auction closes to complete payment. Any unpaid item(s) after allowed time will be considered “withdrawal of bid” and the next winning bidder will be offered at their max bid.

Shipping continental U.S. as follows:
o 1 – 9 tokens = $7.00 (includes 1st class mail + tracking)
o 10 - 183 Tokens = $10.20 (flat rate box priority)

I think TD usually prefers that next year (2025) auctions don't start until the ordering window for current year (2024) tokens closes. You might want to check with Jeff to see if that's still the case.

I've never heard that.

It's not clear to me why they would - they sell largely different items - the only overlap being one year of URs that are available for another ~12 months anyway and trade goods which are evergreen.

In any case - this year there are only 3 days between the end of 2024's token selling (September 27th), and 2025's initial order (October 1st).

I'm sure TD would rather have $16k of sales in 13 days on October 1st when preorders open from this auction, as opposed to whatever theoretical non-canibalization value would be achieved from starting this auction 10 days from now.

From what TD has said in the past, I think they are concerned that pre-sale auctions draw all the attention and money away from the current year token sales.

The main thing you can't get next year are 2023 URs and the bonus items at 1k and up.

Unless someone has to have those they will just not spend until new auctions are up since they can cherry pick what they want.
