I'm starting to set up the dates for the auction and set aside specific tokens for the fundraiser. The dates listed in the header are tentative but likely close to final.

We run the auction late October and early November to both capitalize on matching donations through coloradogives and to ensure we get our seed orders in on time for the next year.

I'll try to update frequently - at minimum daily then more frequently as we get near auction completion.

Ebay style bidding. Bidding up to $10 is in 25 cent increments, $1 increments from $10-$100, then $5 increments above $100. Shipping is $9.

First, an overview of what you’ll be helping…

Mary's Hands is a 501c3 Non-profit (non religious - Mary's Hands is named after my late mother) founded by my wife Isabelle and myself. It was named after my mother who tirelessly volunteered and helped others her whole life. We are fortunate enough to have land we can farm and built a program to grow food for who need it the most locally. The critical part of what we do is in delivering the food to affordable housing communities directly and helping them set up mercado-style markets where residents can come by and pick up whatever produce they need in a friendly and supportive environment. We grow what these communities are telling us they can't afford but would love to have. It's humbling to see people who can't afford high quality organic produce get restaurant-grade produce rather than cast-offs or seconds. You can find more information about our work at Mary's Hands

2025 ended with 2 tons of produce provided to the communities we serve along with several thousands of dollars in direct food aid while SNAP benefits were suspended. We provided starts (plants ready to be planted) for some communities as a test project and it went well. 2026 has us providing several hundred starts to the communities that have gardens at their request.

As you know, produce prices have increased sharply and government programs assisting low income families have been greatly reduced. These communities are working families or elders that are hard pressed to make rent and basic costs - good quality food is well beyond their means. We're able to help and do it in a way that respects their dignity with the free mercado concept.

We have our tunnels set up to try and extend the growing season - 2025 we were able to keep growing from May to early November. 2026, we had plants in the ground for the tunnels in early April that succeeded. We expect, barring an exceptionally cold fall, to be able to grow into November again this year. Our hope is both to increase overall produce but also extend the season when people can benefit from it.

For the auction itself, bidding will be ebay style with the winning bids paying through our donation portal for Mary's Hands. All winning bids are tax deductible as a donation to our 501C(3) non profit Mary's Hands!
