What exactly is a sponsored auction?

• A sponsored auction is an opportunity for any member of the TD community to have access to the benefits of running an 8K Auction without any of the administrative hassles!
• In a sponsored auction, UTC handles the running of the auction including the bid tracking, posting, ordering, and shipping management to the winners.
• The Sponsor helps fund the auction by paying the difference of the cost of the 8K pack and the agreed upon funding amount and then receives all Random URs (9-10), any Golden Ticket included, as well as a video of the package opening to verify.

So I can choose any format I like? Can I hold back certain tokens? Run Augmented?

• Great question and not so fast...
• Based on feedback over the past year, all auctions run through UTC will be Lightning Auctions (end the minute we cross the funding line) and all tokens must be made available for bidding except the random URs and Golden Ticket.
• This both helps keep the bidders experience consistent as well as makes managing the bidding on the backend much more streamlined.

How is the order of Sponsors determined?

• One of the main goals of the sponsorship program was to make available the benefits of running an auction who may not have the time or energy to run an auction, or fear they do not have the experience in the community to have others trust them with 8K in funds.
• To that end, when determining the order, there are two main guidelines that determine order: 1) First Come, First Served and 2) Priority is given to members which are sponsoring for the first time in the annual cycle.
• This means that if this is your first auction you are sponsoring, you will go ahead of anyone that has already sponsored at least one in order to give as many people access to the service!
• The count resets each year so if you've already sponsored 1 or more this year, your count goes back to 0 for next year.

Sounds too good to be true...What do you get out of it?

• The main thing for me is I always want to give more people access to things that help new players get into the game more. 9-10 URs for $508 is a nice way to start building a collection and getting into the game.
• Outside of that, this helps build the community of bidders that see UTC as there main source for TD purchases, both inside and out of Auctions.
• Last but not least, I can only afford so many $508 payments for each auction

Getting closer!

Thank you all for your interest in sponsorships this year and I've officially closed requests for new sponsors in 2023 as know the list is too long to hit them all (would need to clear a new auction every 3-5 days. ).

Also, with the change in the auction landscape this past few months, I am going to be looking at if/how many auctions I will be running during the year so you will see these slow down in general. I will keep the community informed so you can plan accordingly on your sponsorship list and right now my expectation is to run only 1 auction each month at most.

I know this changes the number of sponsors that will get a chance this year and wanted to give the news ASAP in case you need to change your purchasing strategy for the year. At minimum, I wanted to keep the auction & sponsorships going through the Pre-order period, however now that we are past the pre-orders, I do need to replan heading into 2023.

I'm hopeful that more sponsorship opportunities will be offered through some of our other auctioneers this year to help our community and encourage you to continue to make those requests! Thanks again all!

As mentioned on an earlier thread, due to some of the shipping complication and liability concerns, I will be ending the sponsorship program effective immediately. I'm very sorry for not getting through more names this year and greatly appreciate your understanding. Thanks!

Matt, thanks for running it as long as you did! I enjoyed sponsoring my auction, it went flawlessly, and I'd be happy to sponsor another in the future if you start doing sponsored auctions again.
