So, since I'm new to this, I'm not quite sure I get how these work still. How do we know how many of each item there are available? I see some people are paying different amounts for the same items, so it doesn't quite seem people are outbidding each other? I think I'm missing something.

If you go to the Store page, you will see what is included with the various types of 8k orders. In this auction, people are allowed to bid on portions of the order. So someone might have bid on, say, 10 of the Dwarven Steel. You don’t have to bid on all 67.

People will generally pay one bid increment different at most, for things there are more than one of.

Also to note, multiple people run more than one auction. For instance this is the ninth from this person. It’s a way to potentially save on shipping
