Another successful VTD in the books and a new auction on the board!

Thanks to Scott & Casey for the last two and wanted to follow up on their success with a lightning auction for the players. This auction will have the lowest funding total of the year at $7,300! What that means for you is with the same items up for grabs, most items will sell for well below normal auction prices.

This is my first auction with the community, so I wanted to thank those players that helped me (and other new players) join up with True Dungeon and for the community as a whole that has welcomed me and my friends as new players this year.

AUCTION RULES & GUIDELINES

Funding Rules

In order for the auction to be successful, the grand total of all bids must meet or exceed $7,300. If the auction fails to meet the minimum, I may choose to go forward and fund the remaining balance or call the whole thing off.

Auction Style (based on Survey Feedback – THANKS!)

• 2 Week Lightning Style Auction: Auction will close after 2 weeks or once we hit $7,300, whichever comes first.
• Blind Auction: Amounts will be public, however names will be private. We will use NES Character monikers for all bids and items as to make it truly blind.
• Vickery Auction: Think eBay in which you can bid for the highest amount you are willing to pay, however you pay based on the 2nd highest bidder + bid increment.

How Bidding Works (Vickery Auction)

Bids should be sent to me via PM

Once bid is received, I will send you a PM confirming it your NES Character monikers, which will be different for each item you bid on.

You must bid at least the lowest current winning bid + the bid increment.

The highest bid wins, however the winner pays the lesser of the 2nd highest bid + the bid increment and the highest bid. This means if you bid $100 and next highest bid is $75, you only pay $80. This prevents sniping and encourages bids for the highest amount willing to pay, knowing that if demand is less, you will not overpay for the item.

This auction rewards early bidding. If multiple bidders bid the same amount, the earliest bids win.
Feel free to bid on any number of items for which there are multiples available, your bid will always apply to the cheapest items.

Bidding Increments:

Bid increment on items less than $10: $0.25
Bid increment on items greater than or equal to $10 and less than $50: $1
Bid increment on items greater than or equal to $50: $5
NOTE: All bids must be divisible by the increment in place for their bid tier.

Auction End Guidelines:

Bidding ends on at 8PM EST / 5PM PST, but this is Lightning Style auction so it will end immediately as soon as we reach the necessary threshold. Put another way, bids will process in the order PMs are received, and once we go over 100% on a particular PM, no more will be processed.

However:

If there are technical difficulties with TD forums within 1 hour of the end auction time all open items will be extended 24 hours, open to all bidders.

If a new highest bid is placed on an item within 1 hour of the end auction time the bidding on those item(s) will be extended 24 hours, open to all bidders.

Payment & Shipping Guidelines:

Payment is required through PayPal via friends and family. All winning bids will have 48 hours after close of auction to provide payment. Any unpaid item(s) after allowed time will defer their winning bid and the next highest bidder will be offered the item at their maximum bid price of the item(s).

Shipping (domestic):

$6 for 10 or fewer tokens

$9 for 11 to 150 tokens

$20 for over 150 tokens

International shipping will be the actual cost.

Monday Morning Update: June 7

WE ARE OFFICIALLY CLOSED AND AN ENORMOUS THANK YOU FROM ME TO THE COMMUNITY AS A WHOLE! You all placed over 118 bids over 7 days with 22 different people taking part in the bidding! I have notified all winners with their final amounts as well as next steps to close this all out and CONGRATS AGAIN!

Now onto the "warm feelings" ... I had some serious doubts running my first auction as I know I'm new to the community and just diving into the deep end. I don't have the same relationships as many of you, but you all seriously stand up to the reputation as one of the more welcoming gaming communities out there. It takes trust to get behind newer players, especially if you've never even met in person, and as we hit the weekend it really was incredible to get the kind words and encouragement throughout. Everyone wanted to be the reason we hit the funding amount and not only did we hit it, we flew past it on Sunday (almost $300 over the goal).

I will see some of you in our next VTD runs, but I truly look forward to meeting you all in person sometime in the very near future! But until then...Love ya! Mean It!

Thank you for running the auction Matt! Now, if I can only get the bidding right...LOL
Payment got sent tonight. Had a little issue trying to find my debit card last night. All is good though!

No worries at all and been there! Can't wait to get the tokens out this Friday/Saturday!

QUICK UPDATE: ORDER RECEIVED & LOOT IS SHIPPED!

The good vibes keep on coming! Thank you again to all the winners as got all our payments in and just in time as happy to say, we got the package 1 day early!!! I had hoped to send out the loot by Saturday morning, however with the early delivery on Thursday, I was able to get all the goods divided, packaged, and am happy to announce all packages made it to the Postal Annex Friday morning (-1 package as need to confirm the address before shipping)!!!

I will follow up as I receive confirmation on deliveries to ensure everything arrived correctly and in good shape and thank you again for taking part in this one! This was a lot of work, but a ton of fun and a great way to meet some of you I haven't had the chance to run with in VTD as of yet!
