spider word puzzle room 9 years 4 months ago #1

Did anyone solve the spider puzzle room? The one that had the broken words and the cadaver in the middle. I don't know if it was just us but we had such a hard time figuring it out. I played as the rogue and opened the box for a clue but the clue just told us to think from the spiders perspective (or something like that) which we had already figured out upon entering anyway. So, needless to say it was a wasted clue. We pieced together the sentence but one of the words didn't make any sense at all (can't remember what it was).

The tricky thing was where to start. One of the letters in the inner circle had black ducktape around it, which indicated where it started. As a result, you spiraled outward, sometimes even mid-word.

The other tricky thing is that some of the letters (L vs J and "VI" vs "IV") were based on the spider's perspective.

Someone else probably remembers the exact phrasing but you needed to Eject One player and then have them touch the Lust Demon Six times.

So everyone needed to be in the web, then one person leaves and touches the Succubus image 6 times.

There were a few choices, like whether you used L/J or the two uses of roman numerals. It ended up telling you to eject one from circle and touch lust demon 6 times.

A common mistake i saw in this room was players missing that the 'j' was actually a 'L'. Several times saw people think of 'just' demon and looked, touched the one with the scales instead of the correct answer of Lust demon.

The tape was added sometime late Thursday. Before the tape there were still two ways to find the start. One was the mummy was looking at the start letter, the other was to assume the exclamation mark was the last character and work your way backwards.

Didn't know that, I did my first sable run on Friday.

We apparently came up with the word luscle (went into my phone search to see what the word was) I tried to look up the word afterwards to see if it was actually a word, which it isn't. Not sure how we got that word. We were on the right track I think but I don't know how we came up with that word out of it. Anyone else have that problem?

Nope, u meant the past about luscle.assumed it was wrong because it was not a Common word. Checked again and figured it out. Good puzzle all told

I loved the puzzle. Not only did it look cool, but at least for my group it was hard but not too hard.

My NM group figured out the lust demon part, and the six times, but not "eject one from circle." Great looking puzzle.
