TOPIC: Cloak and a mask?

Cloak and a mask? 9 years 4 months ago #1

Having experienced TD in prior years where the final monster was a HUGE audioanimatronic masterpiece that literally made us gasp in awe, imagine our disappointment this year to find that the boss monster was a guy in a cloak and mask.

I believe we got our "gasp and awe" (as well as a few genuine screams of fear) from the illusionary spider room. If you stood in the right place in the corridor leading to the back of the hall, you heard some really good jump scares.
Something interesting just happened.

The Myconid was well done, if a bit variable. The first time we encountered it, it was all crouched down and when touched it sprang up. It was quite the startle for the player who touched it.

The second run it was already standing when we entered the room.

The giant spider was good as a large animated figure. Although on my second run I wasn't sure whether it was trying to pick pocket me or goose me.
D&D teaches all the important lessons in life - the low blow, the cheap shot, the back stab, the double cross. - Jerry Marsischky

Let them trap us. We have our swords. - Elric of Melnibone.

You try to get them to play the game, but all they want to do is play the rules. - Ardak Kumerian

I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend - Faramir

I can agree with the Myconoid, it was well done. The one from the green with Envy run was not a fan of my maracas and kept sneaking up behind me >>

The question is did the final monster still have its shirt on for the encounter?
If yes, then I'd agree.
If not...
My eyes! They still burn! The horror!
