TOPIC: Thanks for WYC!

Thanks for WYC! 9 years 1 month ago #1

I wanted to take a moment to publicly thank Jeff and all of the volunteers for the WYC event. I had a really great time experiencing retro dungeon rooms and playing TrueGrind. I'm sure this required a lot of work from the many people involved and wanted to say thank you.

With the tickets not selling out, I hope Jeff at the least didn't lose money on the efforts, and hopefully he made some to help support his family. As a big fan of True Dungeon it is important to me that it remains both fun and financially viable enough for Jeff to continue to run and grow this event long into the future.

Thanks Jeff!
Thanks as well to all the folks on the Install Crew who came in early to set up the dungeon; to everyone who volunteered as DMs, Coaches, Trainers, BlueHands, Ticket sales, Treasure Desk, Greeters, and Token Transmuters, as well as everyone who stayed to take things down after.

It was a great Con. I look forward to the next time I make it out to WYC!

The Whos Yer Gamers facebook page says that attendance increased 48% over last year. Wonder how much of that was related to TD.

Me and plenty of other TD players were there for the first time solely because of TD... so I'm sure we helped.

As a big board gamer I was a bit disappointed by the board gaming that I saw and the library (when compared to local Atlanta conventions that were much smaller). So I wouldn't go back if it wasn't for TD, but if TD does events next year I'll be there.

If you are interested in board games, I can bring Middle Earth Quest, Talisman 3rd edition, Dungeon Quest 1st edition, Runebound, Runebound Island of Dread, Runebound Midnight, Munchkin Quest, Axis and Allies Aniversary edition (though I'm contemplating selling that one).

Though if I volunteer again that will limit my board game time.

I have a few 'older' board games.... Careers, Sub Search (which I love), Pac Man, and GI Joe :)

I would play most of those :) If you sell the A&A Anniversary Edition it was going for $300+ last I knew (I still have one of my copies). But I'll likely volunteer at WYC next year myself so really as long as there is lots of TD I don't need board gaming (I do lots of it locally in ATL).

I had a great time at WYC and learned a lot, though I couldn't be there long. I really liked getting to see and meet some of the people involved with putting it all together. I hope to do more next year.

Thanks!
