This is a somewhat interesting bug in the forum software and how it interacts with browsers trying to handle malformed HTML.

I'm not sure what Jeff originally entered as his topic, but it was rendered as including the less than character (<).

This is a special character in HTML, which needs to be escaped in the HTML source as these characters concatenated with no spaces between them: & l t ;

The forum software has escaped it most places on the page, however in the gray subtitle it is being rendered in the HTML as a literal '<'.

This opens and HTML tag, and since the next character in Jeff's email is an I and then a space, I guess our browsers are interpreting it as the HTML < i > tag, which is for italics (technically the entire post is malformed HTML from that point on - but browsers are pretty permissive of malformed HTML and try to make some guesses as to what was intended).

If someone administers the software and wants to PM me I can go into this in more detail and potentially work together on a fix.

Someone edited the post to put a space between the less than and the I which is causing our browsers to not interpret the invalid HTML as an HTML italics tag.

Looks normal to me, now, on my DROID2.
