1. You will laugh, cry, live, and die (yes, most of us have died at least once). Remember it's just a game, and have fun.

2. Team dynamics are critical. If you don't like the group you're with, at least be polite and try to work together.

3. The forums are your friend. You will find more information in these threads than you ever thought possible.

4. Let your group know what your doing before touching anything. Traps hurt.

5. If your not sliding, try not to crowd the combat board. Rooms are only twelve minutes long and smooth flowing combat is critical to victory. Slide, step back, slide again, and don't take the pucks when you leave the room.

6. Arrive a little ahead of your run if you can. The extra prep time really helps.

Get there early. 20 minutes before start time.

Be flexible about class selection. Maybe another person in the group is perfectly geared for the class you want. And third level and higher ranked players have priority in class selection. Be prepared to try something different.

Your DM is only human. And a volunteer. And maybe at the end of a long shift when you encounter them. Play nice.

Its all about the loot. Its all about having fun.

Loot is fun.

Don't argue. If you think someone, like the DM, made a mistake, then it's ok to say why you disagree ("but my magic widget prevents me from being surprised") but if the DM won't budge, just move along. You may win the argument after a 6-minute discussion and calls to the director, but you could lose the room anyway as the clock runs out.

Set up a sliding order in the coaching or training room, if possible.

Read your card, and know your spells and abilities. Then, use them! Save your biggest for the last combat, but there is no prize for unused spells and abilities at the end.

* If you bring extra tokens or decide to shop for individual, specific tokens, you get a LOT more bang for your buck by just filling in your slots, rather than going for powerful tokens. Ultra-rares and above are really nice, but if you have a bunch of empty slots you would be far better served spending $100 filling them up with nice rares, than you would by upgrading your +1 weapon to a +2.

* It's already been mentioned, but use your spells and special abilities! Don't go overboard, but also don't worry too much about using them all up too early. (Well, maybe save your best for the end, like barbaric rage or cleric's bless...but if your group is in trouble, use them! No use saving something for the end if you don't make it to the end...)

* Um... that's all I got right now! Most of the important stuff has been said by others already.

If everyone in your group is new or mostly new share your tokens with the group. You'll have a much better chance of getting through the dungeon. Try and fill out every party member as much as possible.

Remember that after the party card is filled out that Rare armor you lent to someone can go back in your bag. Only weapons and consumables (potions, scrolls and such) need to be used in the dungeon.
You can't fix stupid but you can TPK it.

* Definitely arrive early. Make use of that 20 mins to read your character card, know your abilities, and get to know some of the other folks in your run. Especially know who your party Cleric (and/or Druid) is!

* Clerics can't read minds! If you are low on hit points in the dungeon, you have to TELL THEM that you need healing. As a rule of thumb, get healing when you are reduced to half your hit points. Don't wait until you have only 2 HP left, because the push damage from failing a room could kill you.

* If you finish a room with some extra time left, quickly consult with the group about who needs healing. It's a lot easier to use that 2 minutes to take stock and heal up, than to go into a fight in the next room and suddenly discover you've got to waste a round of combat to heal, rather than going all-out against the bad guy.

* Want to get the most treasure out of your run? (Yeah, of course you do!) Then watch for rooms which have a laminated "T" sign on the wall. Those are the rooms which will be worth a treasure stamp if you succeed. Put extra effort into solving those puzzles or defeating those monsters. Other (non-treasure) rooms are less critical.

* Bards: SING! This is your single-most useful skill in combat. If you have 5 people sliding on the board, and your BardSong adds +1 to each person's attack, your combined effective power is equivalent to that of a Legendary Weapon. BE LEGENDARY.

* Rogues: if you solve the Rogue chest and your party is stumped on the puzzle, ASK them if they would like you to pull the Clue. If the room is worth a Treasure stamp, then be nice and go for the clue! That treasure stamp will probably produce better treasure than anything you're likely to pull out of the Rogue chest. (If it's not a treasure room, then go for the Rogue box treasure!)

* DMs have only 2 eyes, and there's 10 people for them to watch. If you want to interact with the room, please get the DM's attention before touching the magic scepter, or drinking from the glowing chalice.

* Time is your greatest adversary in the dungeon. Running out of time kills more groups than any monster has (well, except the dragon, Smoak) so USE YOUR TIME EFFECTIVELY. If you see the DM pulling out a combat board, quickly get our your weapon token. If you think you have a solution for a puzzle, try it before the final minute! If you're done at the combat table, get out of the way.

* Jeff is notorious for his fiendish puzzles. Some have had auditory components, or smell, or touch. Use all your senses! Also beware of tricky word play: A sign which says "Take Note" might mean you need to listen for a certain sound, or play an instrument.

When you tell your cleric/druid you need healing, tell them how many HP you are down; not what your current HPs are. They probably don't know where you started, and they can pick an appropriate healing level based on how far you are down if you tell them.

Don't touch anything! Check with others first.

Be careful how fast/far/loudly you enter a room. Listen to what the DM says when you first enter the room...if anything. And the first person in line gets the party card. Don't make the next DM wait for it. It costs time.

Look around and be observant.

Have fun! And enjoy the rooms! It is a game after all. :)
