I went to The Container Store today to get some more tubular and stackable token containers and stumbled across a jewelry pouch that I thought would make a great token holder. It's a lot like a really big dice bag, but it has eight smaller compartments sewn around the interior perimeter*. In addition, the bottom center has a thick padded disc sewn into it. Each side pouch is big enough to hold at least eight tokens and still be cinched shut. The center area could hold a lot more than that. Here are a couple pictures with links in case the images don't show up.
image 1

Obviously it's too late to mail order them, but if black is not your color (that's the only color TCS offered), you may have additional options if you get them from Baggallini , the people who manufacture them.

*Is "interior perimeter" an oxymoron?

I'm really wishing they had a store in my area. I really like those stackable containers.

Kim

I have one of those pouches, which Dirtdazzy made for me. They're very cool!

I'm going to bring some to Gen Con. Find me and I'll be happy to sell you my extras at cost. I'm quite tall, bald, bearded, and will probably be wearing a black kilt.

Sorry, but that fits LOTS of people at THIS particular con. =D Now if you were going to wear a business suit, you'd REALLY stand apart!

I hope my wife doesn't get wind of this. She is still frantically sewing my sleeve-less T-Shirt with 29 pouches, with velcro flaps, for use in case we play Cleric (will also hold the healing potions).

Fair enough, but how many bald, bearded, 6'5", black kilt-wearing guys will be hanging out at the Marriott Ballroom for nearly all of Gen Con? ;)

The odds of me wearing a business suit are poorer than you winning multiple state lotteries all on the same day. :tongue5:

Post Gen Con Report

Expandable Jewelery Pouch
I came to call this my Sporran of Healing because I kept all my Cure Light, berry, bread, and curative consumables in it. In the center area, I had a large cache of 1 HP cure potions and placed the more specific restoratives in the smaller outer pouchlets. I found accessing tokens in the main pouch worked perfectly. But even though I logically arranged them, I found I had to dig around a bit to find the correct outer token compartment. It wasn't bad, but I think labeled stackable containers made for much quicker access.

Stacking Containers
The stackable containers were very handy. With the addition of custom color-coded labels I made, it was easy to get exactly what I needed. I carried them in side pockets on my kilt, which meant I needed to protect them from banging into one another. Not a big problem, but it meant that I couldn't make stacks that were too tall or they'd fall out of the pocket. I also found that continual movement would loosen the connections. I remedied that by screwing them together a little tighter, but I didn't want to make then too tight or the acrylic might break. Fortunately, all the containers survived not only several TD runs, they made it through baggage handling (both ways) without so much as a fracture. It should be said they when they were in my suitcase, each tube was protected by a single layer of bubble wrap.

Pop-Top Tubes
These were great for carrying large quantities (up to 21) of a single token. I think the best use of those was a large stack of Faerie Water and the Goblet of Healing. I carried around a couple other tubes of mixed tokens, but that proved to be a PITA to the get the specific token out that was needed. I'll definitely use these tubes again, but only for large stacks of single items.
