TOPIC: Potions of Barkskin & Belt of Retrieval

I'm sure this has been discussed before somewhere....<br /><br />If you use the belt to take a potion of Barkskin, does it take effect the moment you drink it? Can you still attack that same round as per the belt's ability?<br /><br />Thanks,<br />- M.

Transformation takes 1 round I believe.

So the sequence would be:<br /><br />Round 1<br />Free Action - Drink Potion<br />Action - Attack, etc.<br /><br />Round 2<br />Free Action - Potion takes effect<br />Action - Attack, etc.<br /><br />?

The belt just allows for the free action.  It does not change the effect.  So if the potion takes a round to take effect, then your proposed sequence would be correct.<br /><br />Round 1<br />Free Action - Drink Potion<br />Action - Attack, etc.<br /><br />Round 2<br />Free Action - Potion takes effect<br />Action - Attack, etc.<br />

The polymorph potions are better than I thought - I didn't realize you could attack in the turn they were taking effect.  I thought you would drink it, and then spend a turn doing nothing but transforming, and then you could attack in your new form (think American Werewolf in London). 

only with the belt of retrieval, it is a technicality, really.

Belt of Retrieval: This belt, with many special pouches at the ready, allows the wearer to consume a potion as a free action once per combat. This belt does not work for other liquids like oils or salves. It must say "Potion" at the top of the token for it to work with this item. Note: only one free action is allowed per combat round.

<br /><br />So does the belt work with the following?<br /><br />Dwarven Rations<br />Fey Bread<br />Good Fruit<br />Good Berry<br />Oricish Rations<br />Potion - Death's Door<br />Potion - Drow Blade of Venom<br />Potion - Phial of Conflagration<br /><br />Again, apologies if this has been posted before (seems like it would be a common question).

Only potions

So for the potion of Death's Door, the belt says "drink", so is it that you technically use it on yourself to no effect or can you use a potion of Death's Door on a friend as a free action?

I'm pretty sure you have to drink them yourself.
