TOPIC: FINAL 2008 Tokens -- LAST CHANCE TO GIVE FEEDBACK!!!!

Here is it.  Please let me know what you think.<br /><br />I changed the Ring of Bear Strength to something for the non-collectors to get and find useful.  One of my goals was to include some magic items that non-collectors would think were cool.  I just remembered that and changed it to the Ring of the Serpent.<br /><br />I changed the Mace of Disruption to make it different yet still cool for Clerics to have.<br /><br />And made some cosmetic changes to the Blood Opal Necklace, the Troll Hide Armor, Gold Candle-thingie, bolt of lightning.<br /><br />Edited text in the Ektdar's Tools, Bracers of Quivering Palm, Wand of Life Stealing, tanglefoot bag, Amber Marquis<br /><br /><br />Thank you all for the great feedback.  We have made a cool set of tokens here!<br /><br />The artwork goes out Tuesday late afternoon!<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />[attachment deleted by admin]

i dont think the ring was a problem, just the pic for it was wierd.<br /><br />Nice Hues on the ring and bolt <br /><br />I still dont see a major benefit to the cloak of curses to warrant it a space in the rares, and are you sure you want 2 Holy symbols in the set?<br /><br />Maybe replace the mstwk holy symbol with ring of the bear, keep both rings?<br /><br />

I am just glad to see a damage bump to rogues ranged attacks without need an UR or a pile of ammo<br />(Shortbow avg dmg 3.3 vs. Bone Javalin avg dmg 3.5)<br /><br />Also I know this is going to sound uber-petty, but the new Blood Opal Necklace does not look scary at all, its a red stone on a "sun burst" back ground.  I was expecting something more with an Eye Theme since we are still facing Iuz.  I know you have a limited catalog of images, but nothing looked like any of these?<br /><br /> http://www.tulumba.com/storeItem.asp?ic=EE186860SA110 <br /><br />or<br /><br /> http://jewellery-place.com/product.php?url_name=38480 <br /><br />or even<br /><br /> http://www.evil-eyes.com/PRODUCTS/Silver/Pendants/smn1040.htm <br /><br />With the new Ring of the Serpent, where do the Combo weapons of Throwing Blade (making the knife throwing monk a real threat) and Masterwork Spear (the rogues best non-UR backstabbing weapon) fall?<br /><br />For Ektdars tool I am curious if the mid point will be widened to make the tool easier to insert at that point, otherwise I am betting a lot of rogues are going to buzz as they put the tool in the narrowed point.  Perhaps it would be easier to have the point half way up the path that they have to reach instead of the end (I think this was a point Raven made in a different post).<br />Current Text<br />

Great idea on the Ring of the Serpent - you're right, if you get one in your 'only' pack, you'd be very happy.  <br /><br />The text on the Bracers of the Quivering Palm is a little cumbersome, but it does get the 'no multiples' point across.  <br /><br />Mace of Disruption - evil outsiders?  Yikes!<br /><br />binia

I like the Ring of the Serpent, and the artwork on the Bolt of Lightning is really kewl - great job!<br />

I'm sorry to see the Ring of the Bear go, I was planning on getting one for everyone that had a Girdle of Hill Giant Strength (non-Barbarian) for an extra +1/+1 (although I did think it was more of a Rare than an uncommon).  <br /><br />That said, I think it's a GREAT idea to add more tokens that are great for the brand new player, even if they don't do much for the token-rich.  It's important for the token set to meet the needs of the entire range of True Dungeon players, whether they've played for 5 years and have a gazillion tokens or whether this is their first time and first bag of tokens.

<br />An outsider is an outer planar being like a pit fiend or a balor.<br /><br />The mace is still only a situation specific weapon, no better than a rare in unless in a narrow circumstance (and even then only on a perfect slide), and so not for me, but at least it acts against something other than just undead, and therefore it may at least sell a bit better.<br /><br />In any event, I do appreciate Jeff's willingness and efforts modifying the weapon.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />

Ring of the Serpent is great for people without oodles of tokens even if I was looking forward to the ring of the bear.  <br /><br />I also think that we don't really need two different levels of Holy Symbols.<br /><br />The rest rocks.

Is it too late to make a UR suggestion? I just had an idea while driving home that I was feeling all enthusiastic about. It's essentially a re-usable, somewhat weaker version of a potion of deaths door.<br /><br />Healer's Bag: The cleric may take a 1 round action to attempt to revive a character who has fallen below 0 hitpoints, returning him to 1 hitpoint. To succeed, the fallen character must make a fortitude save DC (Jeff's discretion). Failure indicates the character is unrevivable for the duration of the dungeon short of using a potion of death's door or an elixer of life. The healers bag cannot be depleted.<br /><br />Alternate name for this token: Shock paddles!<br /><br />Your gonna live buddy! *ZIIIIT*

Tokens look really cool. Can't wait to get my hands on some! Too bad I won't be able to collect much. If I get just one ultra rare, it would be more than I can hope for. They all look fun though. Good job everyone!<br />David (S.)
