I was just looking at the token information and I had a question...why in the world can fighters/rangers/paladins all use a heavy crossbow but only the fighter can use a heavy repeating crossbow? Dosen't seem to make much sense to me. Sorta like if only paladins could use a +1 longsword but various other classes could use the normal version.

I assume it is strictly for gameplay purposes. I doubt they want all ranged characters toting around a heavy repeating crossbow.

Probably true.

I'm interested in getting one, however, since the fighter will be a primarily melee character, that drops the price of the Heavy Repeating Crossbow significantly. It's no long a have to have, it's just a "kinda neat" thing to have. *shrug*

Yes, they have made it a difficult decision. On one hand, it would be nice to have a ranged attack with 1D10 (even better with bracers of archery and bard song, etc), but on the other hand, you want your fighter in melee to absorb the brunt of the damage dealt out by enemies. I can't decide if I should trade off my heavy repeating crossbow or keep in in case there are good opportunities for the fighter to use it.

Speaking of trading, how is everyone handling that process? Are you deciding what to trade and them mail them simultaneously? Are you using Priority Mail boxes? I only ask because my post office is NEVER open when I can get there, so shipping a package is a problem for me, but I have tokens I want to trade.

I just send them in the regular mail, protected by some rather thick cardboard. I haven't had any problems so far. That way, I've never needed to actually go to the post office.

In a regular letter envelope or bigger, like a manilla? I suppose the envelope can be thicker and heavier than normal as long as you have more postage on it.

I have three trades "in progress", and I too have just used regular mail. All you can do is trust someone to mail your token(s) to you in as timely a manner as you mail to them. You should get your tokens within a day or two of each other. :)

If you can't get to a post office, I can see how that would be a bit of a problem. Sorry, don't know what to tell you!

I have access to "Padded" envelopes at work, so I am using those. Priority mail is WAY too expensive ($3.85). Most of my trades have been two ounces which is only $0.60 postage. You can just put it in the nearest mail box.

Every fighter is not going to have a Heavy Repeating Crossbow.

There were only 15 of them in the first printing of tokens and it is likely the second printing will be about the same size. So there will be only 30 of these crossbows in existance at GenCon. It is likely that most parties will not have one ( there will be 500 groups of adventurers entering the dungeon at Gencon).

Wow, only 15 in existence? I didn't realize very rares were THAT rare. Now you are giving me second thoughts about trading it...

I just use regular envelopes and stick 2 or 3 stamps on them, depending on how I guesstimate the weight. The key is the cardboard inside to protect the precious cargo. I've been using the hard cardboard from the priority mailer that TD sent my tokens in.

Cool, I will put together a list of what I have to trade and post later today. Thanks, all!
