I was reading an article in the Economist about Heritage Auctions. The founder, Steve Ivy, who still runs it today warned that the seemingly harmless hobby of collectibles can soon become all-consuming. He joked collecting was a "genetic disorder" and said "There's this overwhelming desire, a compulsion really, to complete a set of something". Made me laugh because I thought of Trent.

He also said that 95% of their customers are male which I thought was interesting. But then he said "Men like objects, women like relationships.". Made much more sense after that!

Hahaha. I definitely have an overwhelming desire to complete sets of things. I'm glad that for me that hasn't extended to chip tokens. :)

I did complete my set of Silver Age Spider-Man comics this year - Yay!
