TOPIC: Four fireballs in one round?

Four fireballs in one round? 5 days 4 hours ago #1

If I'm reading tokendb correctly, a wizard with Ashenne's and Bead of Celecia facing multiple foes can cast four fireballs (if elf) or lightning storms (if human) in one round using the following casting sequence:
- Instant action: Fireball via Bead of Celecia
- Free action: Conserved, Forked Fireball = 2 Fireballs
- Standard action: Fireball from class card

Is this correct, or am I missing something (other than more bead slots for my build)?

Per tokendb.com/token/bead-of-celecia/ (emphasis added):
The act of invoking this bead’s ability is an Instant Action, but the Power/Spell used for free still requires whatever kind of Action it normally requires. E.g., if an elf wizard uses this bead to cast fireball for free, the act of casting fireball still requires a Standard Action.

FWIW, you also can't fork a Fireball, per tokendb.com/token/ashennes-arch-mage-medallion/ (emphasis added):
Fork (MP): Causes a single target damage Spell to affect one additional target.

Minus the fork ruling, I would think you can use three Fireballs at least.

Standard Action - Crown of Expertise > Fireball
Free Action - Charm of Spell Storing > Fireball
Instant Action - Quicken > Fireball w/ Mad Evoker

You lose 30HP in the process but it seems worth it to me :)

I don’t think you can MEC with quicken due to this phrase in quicken:

When quicken is used in conjunction with another Mage Power, the caster’s Free Action is consumed.

Couldn't you do this?

Standard Action - Crown of Expertise > Fireball doubled with MEC
Free Action - Charm of Spell Storing > Fireball
Instant Action - Quicken via Ashenne's > Fireball

MEC is not considered a mage power which is why you can MEC more than once per room. You can both MEC and Quicken.

Both Dave and Mike are correct. Additional ways to get extra spells out would include spell storing (charm or ring), Cabal, as well as some ways to cast unmodified spells.
