Alright, everyone. Brace yourself for one of the biggest updates since TrueDugeonTokens.com first launched.
We now have a character builder on TrueDungeonTokens.com! You can create your True Dungeon character build and have all your stats calculated for you. If you also track your token collection, you can even base your build on the tokens you own!
Note that you
must log in to TrueDungeonTokens.com to see the character builder. Otherwise, you couldn’t save your build! Also, logging in lets you optionally make a build based on just the tokens in your collection!
Create a new build
Create the character
Click the new
Builds tab in the menu bar. Then, click the
Create Build button.
Enter a few details about your character, such as its Name and Class, then click
Create. You can also choose two options:
- Collection-based: Only see tokens you marked as in your Collection. This makes sure your build matches the tokens you own!
- Public: Let other people see and copy your character. This is useful if you want to share your character, such as on the Forums, Discord, or Facebook. It’s also a requirement if you want someone else to include your build in a Party.
You can change these options at any time.
Build your character
After you create the character, you see a screen with two sides: your character stats on the left and a space to choose tokens for each slot on the right.
Click any token slot to choose what you want in that slot. You can optionally filter by rarity.
If you chose to make your build collection-based, only tokens you marked as Collected display.
Your character stats update as you add new tokens.
Click the
Builds tab at the top when you finish to return to the Builds screen.
Clone (copy) a build
The bottom of each build includes a Clone Build button to make an exact duplicate of the build. You may want to use this if you have tokens that you repeat in every build you make.
Click the
Clone Build button to copy the existing build. This copy includes the class and all the tokens you assigned. The new build displays the word “Clone” in parenthesis after the name. You need to go back to the Builds tab and click the Edit icon to change the name (at this time).
Notes on adding tokens
- Only tokens you the current class can equip show in the token lists; for example, you won’t see weapons for Barbarians if you are building a Wizard
- Slots that allow multiple tokens (like finger, charm, and ioun stone) only show one empty slot at a time. Add a token to that slot to see the next empty slot display.
- Tokens that have variable effects based on the number in the party (like Charm of Avarice) ask you to enter the total number when you add them
- “Other” means anything not in the 4 standard-pack rarirites (common, uncommon, rare, or ultra rare)
Import a build from tdcharactercreator.com
We know that many of you have years worth of characters saved on tdcharactercreator.com. You can easily import those characters into TrueDungeonTokens.com!
On the Builds tab, click
Import from tdcharactercreator.com. Then, enter what’s known as the
UUID from your build on that site. It’s the bunch of letters and numbers at the end of the URL, like this:
Then, click
Import. It’s that simple!
Manage a party
Lots of people love to play True Dungeon with a dedicated group. The
Parties tab makes it easy for you to gather all their builds in one place and create a party card for the coach at a convention.
Create a party
To create a party, click the
Parties tab, then click the
Create Party button. Enter a Name for the party, then choose if you want the party to be Public. Public parties must include only public builds. You can change this option at any time.
Click
Create to make your party. Then, click the
d20 icon to add builds to your party.
Add party members
For each class, choose the User who the build belongs to, then choose the Build you want to add. The Build list only shows builds that match the class.
Download the party card
After you add builds to a party, you can download the party card. This creates a PDF of the completed party card with stats for all players. You can show this to the coach when you play True Dungeon at conventions to save them a lot of time!
And, yes, downloading the party card and showing it to the coach does give you +1 HP 🙂
Anything I can’t do?
We’re still working on Runestone Fitting Bases. Otherwise, have fun creating any build you can think of!
