TOPIC: Totem of Heroism question

I know the tinkering bits for the totem are only available in 2022 but does the transmute need to be done in 2022 or will it be available for multiple years? I haven't been following token development for the past few years so a bit behind the 8 ball and am having a lot of trouble finding more info other than what the volunteer at the treasure booth told me briefly.
