TOPIC: Warning!! New Vendor Incoming...

Hey folks, myself and my brother are putting some of our tokens up for sale in a new vendor shop. We are concentrating on newer players as we are selling mostly commons, uncommons and rares. We will only sell at conventions like origins, and gameholecon. Our goal is to get newer people into true dungeon by giving them a cheaper option for gear. We will also be having a random treasure draw box for people who want the experience of pulling from the treasure boxes at the end of an adventure. There will also be "lifelines" set i place for this box to make sure the participant doesnt feel cheated like after so many pulls, if you dont get something higher than a rare, you will recieve a random token that is not a common. We have been wanting to so this for a while and are finally getting things put together, we are not the best or the fanciest but again, our nain goal is to give newer players a cheaper more affordable way to play TD! Our store name will be something like "Mantazuma's Cursed Cove" or something like that, name is still being worked on!

Are you "selling" the chance for these treasure pulls or are you asking for the treasure pull tokens to get them? I could see issues here. I really like the idea of you selling the low end tokens for newer players.

It would be a neat incentive to give people free treasure box pulls after each purchase (maybe scaled on the value of the purchase). Good luck on your new store!

Not sure if your planning on buying a booth or just set up like some of the other ‘vendors’ but setting up near true dungeon will be important. I would also suggest having a full stock of the enhanced and exalted rarity items. I think these are the best bang for you buck in most cases for new adventures who are looking to start building a character. Another thing I think would help new players would be some posters or info packets explaining what kind of stats they should be aiming for for different difficulty levels.

So, first things first, good luck on your new venture. Supporting newer players is important.

2nd, make sure you are aware of all rules at each convention regarding setting up. Also, I would speak with the existing vendors and see if they have suggestions. Speaking with the TD leadership would also be a good idea.

If you're planning on trading or dealing in GP, you should likely be fine. Trying to work with cash would be a different story.

Random pulls sound fun as well. Again, how you handle this would be quite important.
