TOPIC: Amazon

Amazon 6 years 5 months ago #1

So I was wondering with all the token stores out there why none of them have gone to Amazon to expand their visibility. Is it the fees they charge or is it just more trouble than it is worth? I know I have some gift card money I wouldn't mind putting towards some new shiny tokens... just saying :-)

Fees are higher on Amazon than on eBay, last I checked

But we buy stuff on Amazon. I’m sure I’m not the only guy who has accepted Amazon gift cards 1:1 as cash for stuff, and I’d do it again

I accept Amazon Pay.

:)

But I'm not sure if your gift cards will work. I believe it's just the payment options connected to your Amazon account.

However, I have considered selling via Amazon. I just haven't decided yet...

yeah it just wants to let me use my credit card associated with the account... sad.... also the gift cards are already applied to my account so I can't send them to someone else... oh well

What I do is just credit the amazon gift card to our account. If you spend more, Paypal me extra, and if you spend less I Paypal the change. People have sent me other cards, too. Just depends on if it’s a store we use

Maybe I should sell TD Tavern gift cards on Amazon? It would be easier than listing all of my products on Amazon.
My online token shop: www.tdtavern.com

We buy, sell, and trade True Dungeon tokens. We also have a convenient consignment program where you can sell your own tokens.

That might be a good idea/workaround.

I checked and it would be $39 a month plus somewhere between 8-20% per sale for me.

good idea, if it is feasible. With the amazon fees you may take a loss which isn't worth it, unless they make an exception for gift cards which I can see as possible.

The margins with using amazon are crappy and make it hard.

The only way I’ve found that makes taking any gift cards feasible is to use them. Converting them to cash makes no sense, financially. But Amazon lets you buy gift cards to places that we shop anyway, so it’s basically like cash. And they’re easily transferred by mail. (People send me the code by PM or email, I put it on our account and we’re done.)

Credit card gift cards are the most flexible but they have fees so I don’t like them. I’ll take them, but you don’t want to pay the 3-7% charge to buy them. They’re worse than Paypal fees.

Other cards have to be mailed, so it’s a little slower.
