TOPIC: Pouch of Tulz/Shield of Scholar-Free Action issues

I have a question about the Pouch of Tulz and Shield of the Scholar and other items that let you use a potion, scroll etc as a free action.

(I searched for an answer in the forums, but didn't see one, if I missed it, sorry about that)

Our guild was wondering: If I use the Pouch of Tulz to drink a potion with my free action, can I use my Standard Action to drink a second potion?

At first, I thought that was yes . . . but then a guildmate pointed out in the Player's Guide that retrieving a potion takes a free action, which has already been used by the pouch. Can I use the pouch to grab 2 potions - drink one with free action pouch/pouch ability and drink the second with the standard action?

Thanks for the link. Since using the Pouch is an Instantaneous action. You would still get a free action and standard action in the same round.

Our confusion was about thebtiming of retrieval of the item. Now that it's clarified that the pouch of tulz lets your retrieve it as an instantaneous action, the action window timing makes the same sense to everybody in my guild.
