TOPIC: Token transmuting, trading in, etc questions

Token transmuting, trading in, etc questions 9 years 4 months ago #1

I came into this part of the forums hoping there'd be a stickied thread I could read, but I don't see one.

Is there a CONCISE page or post somewhere that explains the other things you can do with treasure tokens?

Here's my deal. I'm a moderate player. I've run 5 TD runs so far, and bought a few extra packs. Thanks to the pretty awesome guy who set up True Plinko, I turned a lot of my worthless gold (seriously, I've asked a ton of people, GP is worthless to anyone not transmuting. Thats silly) into whats now a huge pile of tokens.

My GF and I have only ever really played Druid and Rogue. But now since I have so many I'm going to sort them out into other classes 'piles' so I can try something new - or in case we don't get a class we want.

That being said, as I'm sorting, I have a TON of stuff I don't see myself ever needing. Or, maybe I do and I don't know it yet.

Can someone explain, or show me a page that explains (and not truedungeon.com/transmuting - that's written for people who know what they are doinh. I read it. I'm still clueless) all the other things I can do with my tokens? I saw somewhere about 25 rares to trade for something... but I'm not sure. It also looked like, from reading the transmuting page, that there's only 2 things I can transmute this year? Plus some stupid powerful legendary stuff I'll never come close to getting, so I'm not counting that.

Any guidance would be great. Thanks.

I don't know that it's possible to make it any simpler than those two pages. It's basically:

Tokens -> Trade Tokens -> Transmuted tokens.

You can do so at gencon (with some limitations) or through mail. The recipes and what changes into what is all on those two pages.

LD,

I would look in these two places:

Link: Trade Token Redemption page

and/or

Link: Trade Token Guide by Druegar

Page 4 and 5

That is about as simple as I can explain it.

The way I explained it at the con was that we tried to set up three levels of trading:

1. Small trades between new players and collectors
2. Trades of unwanted bulk items for "Trade Item Tokens"
3. Trade Item Tokens are then used in recipes for Transmuted Tokens

So Henry is correct that Tokens -> Trade Tokens -> Transmuted tokens
Let me know if that does not cover your questions.

Some good advice there.
I'm glad you had fun and got some good stuff.

As you've stated your next step will be to see if you can outfit some alternate classes after you've fleshed out your primary. This is always a good thing.

After that you can check to see what "Trade Token(s)" you can make.
Dwarven Steel are 25 common weapons.
Minotaur Hide are 25 common armors.
And so on as the lists indicate.

You can bag and box these up and mail them in and get a handful of these special trade tokens in return, but what to do with them is a good question.

You'll have some options. You could trade them away, sell them or use them in as part of a transmutation.

So its extra work but its possible you can turn the un-needed tokens into a single more valuable token.

Depending on the distribution of your tokens you might have to do some trades to get specific things.

Hopefully all this answers your questions.

The one piece of info that's valuable and you won't find anywhere else is you if you want to do mass transmutes and don't want to overextend yourself with either effort or planning/forethought, bring all your tokens to WhosYerCon. I've managed to get free slave labor two years from forumites who will happily help sort tokens just for the joy of hearing them clink and riffle through their hands.

That is true, there are numerous people that get happy just from sorting and stacking tokens.
You can't fix stupid but you can TPK it.

Now i find this out?! After my desk is already being covered in 40 different stacks of tokens. All just to find out and make sure i have all my monster bits and completion tokens put aside for later.

If I could make it out to WYC I would totally do that. Unfortunately WYC is at an awkward time between C2E2 and ACEN, and a much longer drive

And some people pay their housekeepers/maids to organize their tokens. (Really. That actually has happened before!).

WYC is usually a ten-minute drive to downtown Indy.
